The review is for my wife's IR1 interview. She reached the consulate around 7.50AM for her 8AM interview. She went through security screening and they checked all the things she was carrying. Was asked to wait in a waiting area.
She was called to the first priliminary interview window around 9.30AM. She said the Indian lady at her window was really sweet. There was another man at a different window who appeared to be rude and the whole time she was waiting she was praying not to get him for the prescreen. The lady asked for our interview letter, passport, wedding photos and wedding invitation cards, photos of our trips together, medical reports. There were some basic questions like how did we meet, when did we get married etc. She commented on the pictures from our overseas trip that they were very nice. She gave my wife a token number and was asked to wait in the waiting area.
She was not called in for the interview until around 11.30 so it was kind of ... read complete review

Reached the consulate at 7-45hrs,waited for our turn for the security check. All documents were scanned and we were allowed in. We were asked to go to the adjacent block. As soon as we entered the hall we were asked for the interview letter. We were called around 9.40hrs for the pre screening at counter E with the local staff. Documents were verified by him and I was asked to handover the originals which I had taken. He asked questions and noted few important points, the pre screening interview took almost 40 minutes. My husband's pay slip, tax documents,my birth certificate were reviewed.
We were asked to wait in the main hall. The file from the local staff was sent to the US staff for final interview. In the meantime I was called for biometrics.
Around 11hrs we were called by the US staff at counter 10.
She checked the documents and asked few questions like how we met first, when did we decide to get married and my husband's travel dates during the la... read complete review

The interview went well and I was approved my visa javascript:emoticon(' ').
I had my interview at 9 a.m, I went at 8:30 the watchman told to wait in a queue that was rather long. So, I decided to stay in the car for lil while and went in at 8:45 he told me to wait again and finally I was allowed to the window (where you get your appointment stamped) at 9. Then a security check. Don't take any cosmetics (including comb, chap stick....), electronics, cd's...nothing but the documents. I had to make trips to and fro because I had them. They finally let me in there was another security check and my bags were checked for the above mentioned items. My bag went through a scanner and I was allowed into the next room where a lady pointed to another building.
Finally, I was in the lobby. I was called to a window, there was an Indian guy. While collecting my documents(I didn't submit my documents at a vfs office prior to my interview because Chennai... read complete review
