Everything went smoothly for us. My fiancé was there with me for the interview and the only questions we were asked were about how we met and where we are going to live. Seemed more like small talk then an 'interview'.

To give you an idea of what to expect, here is how it went for us:

Step 1: We stood in line outside the Consulate until it was our turn to walk up to the window. There we got our number. Then we walked over to the nice officer who gives out plastic bags for loose items (wallet, belt, watch) and from there moved on into the first building where we went through security. After that we exited the first building and walked over to the next building.

Step 2: We entered the second building and showed our number to the lady at the desk. She sent us to the end of the hall to window 22. Here, we got an info sheet about getting a social security card, a pamphlet about domestic violence and our DHL receipt. After that, we took a... read complete review

Everyone was really friendly, brief interview with three questions:

- when did you meet
- where are you going to live
- where does your fiancé work

No problem at all, I spent an hour inside
Good luck!

All were very friendly (except security, they were only so so friendly) and professional. All, except the security, were speaking German. The interviewer was very friendly, the interview was a short conversation (about 5 to 10 minutes) and similar to other reviews. The questions were:

- when are you planning to fly?
- Since when do you know her and how have you met each other?
- One picture: where was it taken?
- What is she working?
- What are you working?

I think as long you don't do anything illegal and you say the truth, there is no problem with the interview. But of course they are smart and know many tricks to check, whether you say the truth or not. ( I guess i realized one or two of the tricks during my interview, but as long as you say the truth, there is no reason to worry about them).

K1 Visa questions:

How did you meet your fiancee?
What do is your field of work?
What does your fiancee do for living?
What are your wedding plans?

No paper proofs or photos were necessary.
Allin all it took ~1. The actual interview took 10min

My appointment was at 9.15am and I arrived at the Consulate 15 mins earlier. There were no lines at the main gate at all, so it took less than 5 mins to go through the security check and get into the main consulate hall. My husband (USC) on showing his passport was allowed in with me.

Once in the building, I was handed instructions with interview steps. My husband and I were surprised to see only a handful of people inside. The Consulate wasn’t busy and only three windows were open.

I first went to window 22 to submit my passport, pay a fee and have my fingerprints taken. My case file wasn’t there, so the caseworker had to look for it elsewhere. He excused us and left his post for 10 mins to search for it. Once it was found, he explained my case was filed under my maiden name.

Once done at that window, 10 mins later my number was called up to another window, where I had a brief conversation with a caseworker. He went through my file to... read complete review
