My experience was so much like Review #16390 that I don't want to repeat too much.
My appointment was at 8 am, I arrived outside at 7.40 am and was out again at 8.20 am! 40 minutes including security check and all.
If you are there for K-1, get in the "All other services" line. Do not let yourself be confused by the security lady who tells you if you have a German passport you are in the wrong line. Not true. The other line is for "non-immigrant", and since they treat the K-1 as an immigrant visa, the right-hand line is for you. It is soo much shorter!
Check your bags before you approach. No cameras! No phones! No headphones! No USB sticks! No drinks! (There's a water fountain inside).
They were not particularly unfriendly, in fact all in all rather nice.
The interview took literally 2 minutes and consisted of 3 questions:
- When did you first meet XX (petitioner)?
- Were you attending the same high school (funny, because we were 24... read complete review

It seems, the case is in AP. Message received:
"Under current U.S. law and regulations, certain applicants require additional administrative processing before a visa can be issued. We will contact you as soon as it is brought to conclusion.
However, please rest assured that as soon as we are able to proceed we will take immediate action in your case."

Very disappointed with the time of issuing the visa in the passport after the interview approval. It has been 18 calendar days and nothing yet.

Very nice, smooth interview.
Twice at the window. Once - for fingerprints, the second one - for talking to the Vice Consul. No specific rooms. Everything happening in the mail hall.
The entire visit took me about 1.5 hour.

I had my interview appointment at 09:30 am and arrived about 40 minutes early.
There are two lines next to each other outside in front of the consulate.
One for all the non immigrant visa applicants and one for all the others.
As a K1 or CR1/IR1 applicant you have to wait in the "others" line.
There were two windows open, one being responsible for the non immigrants
and the other for the immigrant/K1/citizen cases.
When it was my turn to go to the window, the officer asked me in English
what the purpose of my visit is.
After I told her I'm here for my CR1 interview, she wanted to see my passport and checked me off of a list (I believe) then she put a small paper with a number in my passport, returned it to me and told me to go through security.
The security inspection started outside where an officer was distributing transparent plastic bags, where I had to put my wallet + key.
Then I was all... read complete review
