Review Topic: K1 Visa

I had a very pleasant interview experience today.
The process is pretty much like mentioned in other reviews: You get in the Immigrant Visa line, get a ticket with a unique number, go through security check, proceed to the main hall, go to the window you are called to, turn in your passport, do fingerprints, take an oath and answer questions.

The interview consisted of four questions:
-How did you meet?
-How long have you known each other before you started dating?
-What is your fiancé's occupation?
-Where did you spend your exchange year?

I arrived at 7.40am and was approved an hour later.

You might be nervous, but it's really nothing to be worried about :-)

Review Topic: K1 Visa

I had a very good experience at the embassy in Frankfurt for my K1 interview.
My appointment was at 9:30am. I got there one hour early. There was a line infront of the building for Nonimmigrant and another line for Immigrant visa applictations. The Nonimmigrant lane was pretty long. In the immigrant lane I only had 2 people infront of me. After checking in at a window outside of the building and giving them my passport. they gave me a number and I had to go through security. Then walk to another bulding. Then a lady welcomed me and told me to check in at the cashiers window. This guy talked German and was really nice. he wanted to see my printed appointment confirmation and my passport. And he got out my file. He told me he would give the file to his coworkr and I needed to sit down and wait until my number was called to another window. As my number showed up on the screen I had to go to window 20. This guy was also very friendly adn talked German. Went with a checklist through m... read complete review

I make it short. All in all described as in previous posts. Everyone was very friendly, the vice consul conducting my interview even put a sticky note on my documents saying "applicant wants to leave next Friday, send passport/visa back ASAP". Questions: "Where and how did you and XY meet?" and "How did your relationship develop over the years". Thats all. Said all documents are complete, visa is approved.
The only TIP I have: schedule your interview time as early as possible, best pick the first time in the morning. I had mine scheduled for 10am, and had to wait almost 3 hours (!!!) in the embassy because there were so many people before me and for the K1's they only had 3 case workers and one consul working through the applicants one by one.

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Procedure like described in the posts before, nothing to add

My appointment was at 08:00 am but we were there at 07:45 am (after security check). I could go to the first window right away although my appointment was scheduled at 08:00.

The actual interview startet 08:10 (there was just one person in front of me) and I was done at 08:20.

The questions were:
- Why you want to go to the US?
- When and where did you meet?
- What did you do when you first met?
- How and when did your husband proposed?
- What is your husband doing for living?
- What did he do before retirement?
- What did he do in the military?

After that the CO said "Everything looks good, you´re approved!"

They just wanted to see the original birth certificate, marriage certificat and the newest IRS transcipt of 2014. All other documents weren´t requested in interview although i... read complete review

My appointment at the consulate went very smooth, with no issues. Everybody was very friendly and that made me feel very relaxed, even though i was nervous like hell.
The procedure itself was exactly as how the other members already discribed it, got nothing to add.
Though every case is different and that´s where maybe questions asked by the consul could vary. I was asked by the NVC to bring an updated AOS form with me since that´s what i got a second checklist for, but....they didn´t ask for it. They only wanted the latest tax return (2014), DHL confirmation page and a birth certificate for my not immigrating son (embassy emailed me 4 days prior to the interview). They didn´t even take my passport pictures!!!

At the actual interview i was asked only randomly small talk questions like

- when and where did you guys meet?

That was it!

All i can say is, that i had a very pleasant time at the consulate
