Review Topic: K1 Visa

Our appointment was on 6/22/21 at 9:45 am. We arrived to the area around 9 am and found parking for 200 pesos in a nearby parking lot. There was a small office attached to the lot where we kept our personal belongings and a lady reviewed and organized our papers (not part of the embassy) for a total of 500 pesos.

We walked about five minutes to the embassy where we saw a long line. There was nobody providing instructions for which line to go to so my fiancé went to find someone at the front who guided us to the blue immigrant visa line, which was much shorter than the non-immigrant visa line.

We walked through security and into a separate building. Please note you can’t bring your cell phone, purse, electronics (Apple watch), water or food. Although, they do have water available inside. We were greeted and shown where to sit (by the bathroom) to wait to submit our papers. The building is comprised of a large waiting area, small front counter wh... read complete review

Review Topic: Other Experience

I had my consular appointment on 06/15/21 at 9:45am in Santo Domingo. Although the consular officer who interviewed my fiancé and I was nice, I did feel like our interview was longer than usual. I think everyone’s experience and case is different. In our case we were asked more than 15 questions. I knew the consular would focus on my fiancé’s divorce so I wanted to make sure I was present at the interview. Here are the questions I remember:
When and how did you meet?
How long have you been together?
How many times has she been to the country?
When was the last time she came?
What do you guys do together?
What’s his favorite food?
What are your wedding plans?
Have you ever traveled to the USA or any other country?
Have you ever been convicted?
Have any of you been married before?
Do any of you have kids?
Why did you divorce your ex wife?
Where is your ex wife fro... read complete review

Review Topic: General Review

My K1 interview was on June 14. We were nervous going in, but it was honestly better than we expected. We parked right across the street. Our appointment was at 7 and there was plenty of parking available at that time. They also have a place right inside the parking lot to store your phone if you want but we didn’t do that. You line up outside 10 min before your interview. They take you through security and then you move on to the next building. The set up for the next building is very much like the DMV. Numbered Windows with microphones and a waiting area. They call your name over the intercom and you walk up to the window. So at that window they asked some pretty basic stuff.
Do you have your birth certificate?
Do you have your police certificate?
Do you have your medical results?
They had him take his finger prints.
Asked him if his son would be added to the petition in the future?
They verified an old phone number and updated it to ... read complete review
