Our interview went great. From what I saw from the other couples that were there too, the most important thing above all is to have excatly what they asked for in the form that they asked for it. You need all of the paperwork and it needs to be correct. Check and double check everything. 2 couples were sent away to get the correct paperwork in line. DO NOT trust that you laywer did it right. Everyone at the embassy was great and the interview was less of an interview and more of a conversation. We were not ablt to pick up the visa right away due to a broken printer and have had to wait a week, but what's another week really?

Update 5/12/11
We had our interview on the 10th and were approved. They accepted our copies and or the "other" originals we had. The only questions that we were asked....and it didn't even seem like questions, more "matter of fact" in a conversation.

The lady reviewing the documents at the first window we went to, asked how we met and when. Once she got the papers in order, we were sent to wait for another window (the interview). Agnes had her fingerprints done (digitally) and we waited about an hour. Then we were called to another window where a nice gentleman had Agnes take an oath of truth that all facts in the papers were true. While shuffling the papers and having her sign her DS-230 he asked me what i did for work, i told him and that was that. We were approved.

It was so "matter of fact" and uneventful that we didn't even realize the interview had actually happened. It was so "non stressed". The people at the embassy have been so nice and c... read complete review

upon entry to the embassy, you are greeted at the entrance by a young lady full of smiles! we arrived early on 10/07 and it was really hot out, so they let us in 30 minutes early. took a number and sat down... since I was there for interview it was relatively easy... we had all the info we needed for interview, and they only asked us two questions... when did we meet, and what was my purpose for that initial trip... that was it! I was amazed. We did however have one document expired (birth cert from national registry), so we had to return on 10/12 with the doc... really easy to get. returned on 10/12, and was told they will call to notify when visa is available for pickup, approx 1 week.. as our departure date neared of 10/23, we hadnt heard anything in a little over one week, so I called on 10/21, and was told the visa is ready for pick-up and can come pick it up after 3pm ( they also stated they were unable to call since they are backlogged and extremely busy ) recv visa, and entry i... read complete review

VERY similar experience to other recent reviews. Like others, we know there is no need to be early because the doors do not open until noon.

Enter through the standard security checkpoint as with others who have business at the embassy. Need all your ID documents (passport, etc) and of course brought our medical info and other supporting documents (affadavit of support, etc).

Waited for our turn and while we were there noticed/overheard many who were NOT prepared with the documents they need. Why they would not follow the directions included when you receive your packet of forms is beyond understanding but there were many who did not have everything they NEEDED for their interview.

A few questions about how we met, how long before we get married, etc. Does each person's family know the fiance, Do they like the fiance, etc. Just standard questions you would expect if you've read the other reviews.

We brought many many times... read complete review

Smooth & Easy Breezy!
He went by himself because I wasnt able to go to Costa Rica for the interview. He was nervous at first; thinking they would deny the visa for one reason or another. He went and arrived an hour early to be the first in line. He went through security and into the waiting room. He says the long part was waiting for a family of five in front of him who did not have all of the paperwork for each family member. They were not able to recieve a decision because of that and their interview was rescheduled. Then they called him to the window & he gave them the forms they requested and they filed them into the file they already had for him and he sat back down. Then after a while, another lady called him to the window and talked to him. He said it was like a normal friendly conversation, but with semi-personal questions. Sometimes she would repeat a question she had asked at the beginning, and he would always elaborate on the question. Instead of giving a simple answ... read complete review
