Had our interview on 12/1 for our K1 Visa. The day started with us arriving and being told that they do not offer K1 interviews at the hour we had originally been given...after having us wait about 10 to 15 minutes, the guards reviewed their list of appointments for the afternoon and saw that we were on the list and let us enter. Once inside, everyone we interacted with was incredibly friendly and helpful. We went inside, waited a few, then they let us into another room that looked sort of like the lobby of a bank. We met with a sweet lady for about 20-30 minutes where she reviewed all of our papers and documents...and also asked us a number of questions including how many times we had met, how we met, and a bunch of things like that. Pretty easy questions, mostly just about our relationship. After she went through all of the papers, we were told to sit down and wait for the cashier. Once the cashier arrived, we paid the $265 and were told to go to another booth (like the teller at the... read complete review

We arrived for our 12:00pm interview at about 11:50pm, and only had to wait about 5 minutes before we were called to the window to begin handing over our packet 3 contents. The woman asked for the DS-160, visa-sized photos, the affidavit of support and all supporting documents, and evidence of our relationship. We had it all ready, so had no problem with this part of the process at all. My fiancé then was asked to go to the cashier to pay the $265 fee, and then we were both asked about 4-6 questions which were normal (Where did you meet? What was it like? How long have you been dating? How many times have you visited each others countries? Do you know each others families? etc.) We were then asked to wait for the officer for the final interview.
The officer called us over and took my fiancé's fingerprints, and then asked us about 10 more questions that were very similar to the ones asked previously. He also asked questions about what we both do for work and where we pl... read complete review

Very pleasant experience and I scheduled my fiancé's medical one day prior to the interview. We flew down to San Jose on the 16th, gathered all updated documents needed in Costa Rica, had medical on Monday the 22nd, interview the following day, told us we could pick up her visa on Thursday and we have our flight back scheduled for Saturday. Very important to have all the paperwork correct; ie: translations from Spanish to English for all the civil documents obtained here in Costa Rica, the original docs from here in Costa Rica, etc..., because the woman before me was not prepared and had no translations and her docs were not originals so they told her to come back another day.
Thanks to VJ I had the phone numbers needed to speak to the doctor prior to our flight to schedule her medical and thus her interview date. And thanks to VJ I also didn't have to totally depend and wait on Packet 3 from the Embassy with their last minute instructions javascript:emoticon('... read complete review

When I was contacted by the consulate to pick up the initial packet, the lady there was very nice. I gathered the rest of the info needed and called to make an appointment. I was calling on a Thursday and made the appointment for the following Tuesday. The interview lasted about 5 minutes. I met with a really nice guy that could see I was very nervous. He asked me why and I told him it was because he had my future and my fiancee's future together in his hands! He told me to relax and that I didn't have anything to worry about. He was very nice and asked me several questions about my fiance and our relationship, including what type of vehicle she drove. Then.... I was approved! It was a great experience and completely different than any experience I had trying to get a tourist visa. My fiance visa was ready 2 days later.

Our appointment was at 12pm and we got there at 11:30am. We waited outside until about 11:50 when they started letting people in. There was already a line formed so I suggest getting there early to be first in line. There was one person ahead of us in line for residency interviews.
We were called to a window and basically stood there and watched a slim guy in glasses staple and organize our papers for about 30-40 minutes. He asked for proof that we filled the online DS-260 (the confirmation page). He asked us a few questions "when did you get married?", "when/where did you meet?" (everything in Spanish) We gave the whole story of how we met up until now. He asked us for supporting evidence of the relationship and I began pulling a ton of info out of my folders. He eventually said "that should be plenty" The same went for evidence of domicile. My husband also had to fill out a form of everywhere he's lived for over six months since the ago of 18. And we had to ... read complete review
