I was obviously a lot more stressed about about the whole interview than I needed to be. My interview was scheduled for 1pm. Got there 45 minutes early... we were asked to go for a coffee and come back at about 15 or 10 mins to the hour. So we went to the Starbucks adjacent to the Consulate. Went back to the Consulate at 10 to 1 and went through security.
(Note: don't bring anything electronic, or even remotely electronic). Thankfully we were already aware of this, so we left everything behind, but the woman in front of us had her cell with her... they won't even store it for you while you are at your interview, but apparently a place across the street will look after it for $5 bucks. Who knew.
Once we got upstairs, had to wait a while, then went to the window and they had us take out the main papers we needed, i.e. forms and I-134 supporting docs. After that, we sat a while longer and waited to get finger printed. Then waited a while longer for the inte... read complete review

Okay.. where to begin, its been a crazy weekend....
We left from Edmonton via Greyhound bus to Vancouver on friday the 8th at 8:00PM for our 18hr bus ride lol. We checked into the Barclay hotel (1348 Robson street) it was only 59/night for a small room wtih the essentials.. tv, shower, bed, etc.. but no phone use, theres a pay phone in the lobby... the most important thing for us was a key and lock. we planned on staying at a hostel, but it was risky.. anyways..
Day of the interview, we took a 5 dollar cab ride from the hotel to the consulate... which is actually the Manulife Place Building on 1075 W. Pender street. Its a brown glass building, nothing special. WE SAW KEANU REEVES WALKING DOWN THE SAME STREET WE WERE WHEN WE WERE LOOKING FOR THE CONSULATE ON SUNDAY!!!.
We got to the consulate around 12:20 for the 1:00 interview, the security guard let us in because it was so cold and rainy outside... did the usual security check then was lead... read complete review

The trip was very long..it was almost 7 hours from Toronto to MOntreal. Al and I had never been to MOntreal before and the place is like a total foreign place for us. Oh well, we got lost for at least 3 times till we find the Hotel.
Was up 5:45am Feb 01, 2008. Had a quick breakfast and left the hotel 7:10am.
Got there first at the embassy, yet being called third for the interview..I believe because my appointment was scheduled on 9:30am.
Questions were so easyyyyyy...we were asked the usual questions of how did we meet? where to stay when we get to the US? When is the wedding plan? What will I do when I get there?
For the record I will say its so easy...stressed and nervousness I had bef0re the interview were all wasted. We didnt even asked even a single letter or any other forms except for my Birth Certificate, police clearance, picture & passport.

So my husband's flight got changed the eve of our interview because they thought he was going to miss it and gave his spot to a standby. So he got in at Montreal at about 2:00am. We then had to go downtown where we stayed(and are staying until Sunday). We rented a room at Quality Hotel on Ave. du Parc.
So, we were able to sleep about 2 hours. At 6:40 we headed out and walked to the Consulate. Somehow, I got us lost.... but we stopped at the Hyatt hotel and got directions and everything was good with the world again. When we got there, it was maybe 5-10 minutes past 7:00 and there was only one woman there before us. They opened the door at about 7:25(yay cuz it was cold), and they proceeded to check our stuff. We had to take off our coats, and empty our pockets. We didn't have any bags, just the paperwork in a plastic bag as suggested here on VJ. We were given the little card with the letter B(window 9). We went through the metal detector one at a time. I made it ring b... read complete review

Office/admin staff was wonderful and pleasant.
Once in with the CO, I was put immediately through the wringer.
It all went fine although quite unnerving. (see full review on VJ)
The whole process was quick.
