Review time! First things first: I arrived in Montreal at Trudeau Airport the day before the interview and had pre-booked a hotel called Le Dauphin via Hotels.ca. More about the hotel shortly. Before I left for Montreal I was a bit concerned about how to get downtown from the airport, given that there are no direct metro lines etc., and a taxi has a flat rate of $45 each way. I ultimately settled on taking L'Aerobus, which is a nice big coach (nicer than a Greyhound) that leaves the airport every half an hour and takes you to the main bus station in Montreal. It cost $16 each way, or $26 return. I got a one-way ticket as I wasn't sure what my plans were going to be the next day. Anyhow, once you get to the main bus station, they have a few smaller shuttles that will take you to any of the local hotels for free (or at least, for a tip). I think that was the best deal for ME, at least, given that I was only going to be there for less than 24 hours. You do NOT need a reservation f... read complete review

We arrived at 6:15AM and there was one couple in front of us and we chatted for quite a bit with them and people started lining up around 7 or so. It was cold, but then it got colder by the time 7:30 strolled around. I'd say we got let in a little later than 7:30. One guard came in and opened up the door and let one couple in at a time. At that point they ask for your confirmation letter. Then they make sure you have your passport. When you walk in, your in a smallish room with two xray machines on belts, similar to being at an airport. They made us take everything out of our pockets. We got to proceed into the basement (waiting area) first because we did not have any over sized bags. I'm telling you right now, they were spotting other peoples USB flash drives and the couple in front of us actually got to proceed into the basement later than us because the one person had an over sized hang bag. So I'm telling you now, don't bring any large purses or hand bags.

Then you p... read complete review

We arrived at the Consulate around 6:45ish and we were 4th in line. As it got closer to 7 - 7:15 more and more people lined up. The guard started to let us in around 7:30. At the security check we had to empty our pockets, take off any belts, coats, etc. Any electronic devices had to be checked in. The guard made a comment about hubby's car.. Mazda 3...good car... LOL We were given letter D.

We got through security and waited downstairs for the elevator. A few minutes later a security guard came and took us to the 19th floor. The elevator feels like it doesn't move at all and then you end up on the 19th floor. We were told to wait in the area to the right. After a few minutes more people came up, but they were for the other side and whatever they do over there. That side was extremely busy and they used the same people that you have to go to for your CR-1 Visa.

We were the only ones that electronically filed out of the group of 5 cases that wa... read complete review

Got to the Consulate around 6. wanted the A...LOL We were there about 10 minute before anyone else showed up. Was cold by 7:30 I couldn\'t feel my toes. Guard opened the doors at about 7:35, wanted passports and interview letters, checked them and told us to go in. Told to empty our pockets into a tray then given another for our coats. Once everything was cleared to take back we did so. Got our letter A. Told to got downstairs to waiting room, sat there for maybe 5 minutes. Taken upstairs in the elevator told to wait to be called up to the counter about 8. Once there we were asked for original documents and copies( we did EP). Asked to sit down for a few minutes until the woman came back for my finger prints. After finger prints done we were asked to have a seat in the waiting room and wait to be called into room 7 or 8.

Waited until 9:30 or so to be called into room 7. The room is quite small and we were 4, but we all fit. After putting our coats and stuff do... read complete review

We got to the Consulate around 6:45 AM and were second in line (I think FIFO was there first) and we all huddled under the doorstep to keep out of the snow. People started arriving around 7pm started lining up on both sides of the door. When the guards opened up at about 7:30, everyone had to move to left hand side of the door (as you look at it). The guards were very friendly, but only allowing a couple of people to go through the door at a time. As we went in, we had to show invitation letter and passport. Once inside the security area, they check our names against a list and gave us a letter, first couple got a A, we got a B. (you have to put your stuff through the x-ray and you walk through a metal detector).

We went down to a small waiting room, with a photo-booth incase you’ve forgotten your pictures (only 4$ for four) and waited for another security guard to come. After about 5 minutes, the room had filled up, and people with letter A, B, C, D, E were in... read complete review
