I, the petitioner, attended the interview with my fiance at the U.S. Embassy of Cambodia. After reading lots of different experiences and mostly negative ones at this embassy, we feared only the worst, a rejection of our petition.
Once we entered the embassy, went through security, we entered the waiting area, which appeared like a DMV. Next, an announcement was made for us to wait in line at window 7 to get a number. We were the very first one to enter the embassy and the very first one to be called to hand over our paperwork at window 9. The consulate officer collecting the paperwork asked some questions as well to verify our identifications. I was allowed to join my fiance to hand over the paperwork while she answered questions. Questions included her home address and my phone number.
After waiting for another 15 minutes, my fiance was called to window 2 for her fingerprint. She went to wash her hands in the restroom before getting fingerprinted. It w... read complete review

This process has been stressful when reading all of the horror stories associated with the K1 Visa Interview process. Unfortunately, the first attempt at the K1 Visa Interview did not go our way. I did not attend..there was very little amount of supporting evidence (only visited two times), and my fiancee did not dress to impress at all. She did wear nice pants and a shirt, but nothing to illustrate to the consulate officer she was serious about getting the visa. Couple all of this with her answering a few questions wrong (she was nervous), and it was destined to be a failed attempt. The first interview took place two years ago in November 2014. It has taken us two years to get back to the interview. The process has seen me utilize one lawyer for the first attempt, and another for the most recent interview. This latest attempt at the illusive K1 visa was met with a mountain of evidence (five visits)...I accompanied my fiancee to the interview (which helps...do not listen to anyone who ... read complete review

Our appointment was for 7:30am and we showed up at 7:00 and waited in line. The information kiosk looked at our passports and let us in. We checked in our bag and cell phones and took whatever documents we had bought to the waiting area. The waiting area reminded me of a DMV line and basically it functioned just like one. We took our number which ended up being 11 out of the 11 k-1 applicants that day. First they called us up to collect our documents. The grumpy Khmer clerk took the police records, physical exam, visa payment reciept, I-34, tax return for the last year and our evidence of relationship. That was it. We had bought a bunch of other stuff concerning financials and original divorce docs but she didn't take any of it.
We waited until 11:40am until we got our number called which by that time we were both tired of waiting and hungry. The CO took my fiancée fingerprints and then we communicated to her with a mix of English and Khmer. She asked my fia... read complete review
