We were the last couple to be interviewed and the consulate feels he needed more information so he requested for us to return a week later for a follow-up interview.

-Met in 2012 got engaged
-Interview in 2013
Interview at 730 am waiting in line at 6 am wanted to be the first ones there and we were. Only thing was people were cutting in line and we ended up being around 4th or 5th. Rude. So you need your appointment letter to get in. And then you go to window number 1 and receive a number and are told to have a seat until your number has been called. Waited for about an 30- 45 mins before she was called to the window the first time. Took some documents ask her a few questions and waited some more. Second time up they took fingerprints. Sat down and waited again. Called up the third time and this was the actual interview. They asked us how'd we meet? How long have you known each other? How did you communicate after the ceremony? Ask me if knew how to speak Khmer. And Ask what I like about her. The same to her, they ask what she liked about me. Then asked us when did he propose? My wife answered in nov. (the day I landed in Camb... read complete review

We got to the Embassy extremely early, around 6am, as I (the petitioner) was determined that we were first in line. We lined up on the left side of the main doors, next to the Information window. People began lining up around 7am and we were allowed into the Embassy at 7:20.
After going through security, where they let me keep my purse, but took my backpack, we entered the main building where we sat in front of clear, glass windows marked 1-10.
At 7:30, we rushed Window #1 to get a number to queue for our processing and interviews. I thought for sure it would really matter which number we got, but they appeared to have us grouped by which type of visa we were applying for, so it didn't end up mattering too much. There appeared to be three other fiance visa couples interviewing that day besides us.
First, they called Tee up to inspect his documents. I was so nervous, because our paperwork and supporting evidence ended up being at least... read complete review

Hello Everyone,
My fiancee went in for her interview yesterday and unfortunately, she failed. The officer pretty much insinuated that he thought we were related because we looked alike. He made his decision on his own biased opinion rather than on the evidence that was provided in the K1 Visa packet. (photos, call logs, flight itineraries, etc..) I spoke to a lawyer and she informed me that countries such as Cambodia, Vietnam, China and a couple others were "high risk" countries. It is much easier to pass the interview through marriage rather than a k1 fiancee visa. It seems to me that all the fakes and frauds have made it passed the interviewers and have caused the legitimate cases to suffer. With that being told, I've contacted my congressman to hopefully appeal this. For your information we've known each other for 4 years, have thousands of dollars worth of phone cards. Also it is highly recommended that your significant other attend the interview. I was in Cambodia o... read complete review

Our interview for a K-1 visa took place on March 20, 2014. My fiance failed her interview in 2011 and I was not able to be with her then. This time we passed and were interviewed by a tall guy who spoke impeccable Khmer and was very polite with us. He asked about the details of our first meeting together and when it was that I knew for sure Aline was the one for me. The staff really liked our pictures as we had a number of candid moments recorded with me acting a little goofy. The CO said he thought we had a really good relationship and said he would being passing us. We did not have my fiances' approval to marry certificate issued by the village she is affiliated with. We had to pull a few teeth and pay an extra $100 and return the next Tuesday with that paper before the embassy began processing the visa. We picked up her passport with a freshly applied visa the following Friday. Most people we went in with that first morning passed their interviews. The CO's are well trained and toug... read complete review
