Our interview for a K-1 visa took place on March 20, 2014. My fiance failed her interview in 2011 and I was not able to be with her then. This time we passed and were interviewed by a tall guy who spoke impeccable Khmer and was very polite with us. He asked about the details of our first meeting together and when it was that I knew for sure Aline was the one for me. The staff really liked our pictures as we had a number of candid moments recorded with me acting a little goofy. The CO said he thought we had a really good relationship and said he would being passing us. We did not have my fiances' approval to marry certificate issued by the village she is affiliated with. We had to pull a few teeth and pay an extra $100 and return the next Tuesday with that paper before the embassy began processing the visa. We picked up her passport with a freshly applied visa the following Friday. Most people we went in with that first morning passed their interviews. The CO's are well trained and tough when they need to be but as long as all papers are in order and you dont freak out while being questioned, nobody should have any problems. I did not include a copy of my latest tax return which delayed our interview by several hours before they accessed it from the IRS database (Im assuming). My advice to those preparing to interview have that document with them. All in all, I was very impressed with the professionalism and efficiency of the embassy staff. Aline and I did not walk out of the embassy that day; we were dancing in glee before we made it to the tuk-tuk
