My interview was very straightforward. I arrived to the Embassy a half hour before my appointment time where I went directly to the guard at the gate and informed him that I had an appointment. Do not wait in the line to the left under the shelter. That is for people with tourist visas who do not have an immigrant visa appointment. They had me wait a few minutes then checked me in. I went through security and dropped off my paperwork with my contact at the Embassy who was very nice throughout the whole process. She told me to return a few hours later for my interview.

During the interview I was asked basic questions about my relationship and fiance. Where we met, how we met, how long have we been together, what does he do for work, what do I do, what are my plans for when I move to the US, when are we getting married and that was it. I picked up my passport with my K-1 visa in it two days later.

I was very accomodated by the Embassy and was pleased with their high level of service. Upon arrival I told the guard at the gate I was there for an appointment instead of waiting in the long line that congregates under the awning to the left. Do not wait in the line. After about 5 minutes they told me to go into the security area where I was screened and directed to head inside. The lady who dealt with my case from the beginning was ready for me and I was instructed to go to her window where I gave her all of my paperwork. My fiance was not with me so I had to provide proof that we were still together (emails, plane tickets etc.).

I paid my fee and was told to come back to be interviewed at 1:30pm. Upon arrival for my interview I noticed they were dealing with another situation so I had to wait for awhile, however, I was promptly apologized to by my interviewer when I was called to his window. He asked me where would I be living, How did we meet, How long have we dated,... read complete review

Our appointment was for the afternoon at 1:30pm, so we went to the Embassy by 10am to drop off our paperwork.

When you arrive, don't wait in the long line of Tourist Visa applicants standing outside under the awning. Instead, go up to the guard and specify that you have an appointment with whomever sent you your appointment letter. It would have been a horrible wait if we didn't do this.

After waiting for about a half hour, we were called up to hand in our paperwork. I was of the theory that you could never bring too much proof. Well, I did. When she asked for any documents I had to turn in with my affidavit of support I had my employment contract, recent paycheck stubs, my current bank balances and my last 2 tax returns. I probably could have gotten away with just bringing a couple of these items, instead of all of them.

The lady who made our appointment was also the one that was there throughout the day taking our paperwork and c... read complete review

Overall Good Experience , Just a few question asked. They looked real closely at the affidavit of Support and my mother in law was the Joint Sponsor. My Husband is unemployed and they asked who helps him with bills I said myself and his mom then she asked me to have a seat and took the afidavits to the back office, after about 15 mins she came back and told me my mother in law was an acceptable sponsor. Was denied for overstaying and allowed to file the 601 which I will do very soon
