Got the at 10.30am for a 11.00am interview. They check your appointment letter and passport and then you go through security on level 10 - you have to remove any electronics from your bag when it goes through the scanner, remove shoes etc. Can take water bottles with but have to take a sip in front of security. Then you sit and wait until called by another security guard and he sends a group of you up to level 59. You go to another window and show your passport again. They then buzz you into the consulate through a big glass door. Take a ticket and have a seat. When your number is called you go up to the respective window where an officer will take your passport, prepaid 3kg envelope, and your proof of payment. At this stage they will give you back all your original documents and either tell you that your documents are in check, or that they need a copy of something. A few people before me had not submitted all the correct documents in their pkt 3 and thus were told to send them in aft... read complete review

My interview was scheduled at 8am, I arrived at 7.45am and the doors had just been opened, there were a few people waiting in line at the security check point on level 10, passport sighted and checked off against the interview list, everything goes through the x-ray, its more strict than an airport check point, liquids are allowed, but the guard must see you drink from the bottle before taking it up stairs, they asked me to take any paperwork and my wallet with me, the rest stayed with the guards.
take a seat to wait for the elevator, guard requested you step up to the elevator and sends you up to level 59, second checkpoint, passport sighted, checked off against a list for the second time, he buzzes you through the door, 'take a ticket for immigrant visa and take a seat' I was the 4th waiting, I waited about 30mins before my number was called to the window.

first part was checking paperwork, and fingerprints, signing one of my documents, can't remember which on... read complete review

I was dead nervous for nothing! Even with a previous overstay (of 5 days) and a denial of entry at LAX I was approved for my K1 in Sydney. I just made sure I told the utmost truth in what happened and why.

She didn't really ask me much about my fiance all that much, as I had a sworn statement with US immigration talking about our relationship. Her questions mostly focused on my overstay. I hope this helps anyone with previous run ins with border protection.

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

My husband had his CR-1 visa interview on September 4th, 2012. We were scheduled for 11 am. We arrived at the building at around 10am. Martin Place features a lot of cafes and food outlets, so if you have some time to kill, it's easy to grab a cup of coffee or a meal.

We wanted to print out a couple of photos we took over the weekend in Sydney, so we found the Royal Express Kodak shop. This is very handy for printing photos off of smartphones, USB drives, etc. They also do passport photos, if you need them. We didn't see a Post Office there, but luckily we had stopped at a Post Office near the QVB earlier and picked up the envelope they needed to mail him his passport and his documents. We got an Express Post Platinum 3kg envelope, which cost around $18 I believe.

It was a bit confusing finding our way to the correct floor of the building. We took the lifts to the tenth floor, which is mostly medical offices, and the consulate. Since we were a bit early, ... read complete review
