If Going through IR-1/CR-1 for Argentina Please Read these pointers.
- All police certificates need to be requested with exception to law 51 (con excepcion a ley 51) I don't know what this means but either the NVC or the Embassy will reject a pcc without this specification.
- If you were born or married in Argentina but not Buenos Aires, the legal documents need to have a validation stamp from the Minestero del Interior. It is free and painless, but necessary.
- Proof of US citizenship needs to be shown for co-sponsors on I-864. Scan of passport or copy of birth certificate should suffice.
We were delayed on seperate occasions for all of these!
- Some of our friends recomended Dr. Kelly for the medical and were right. His office is right across the street from the lab as well.
My wife's experience was pretty standard. She stood in line, was let in 5 minutes before the time. Documen... read complete review

We got to the US Embassy 15 minutes before like suggested. We had to wait outside for a few minutes. It was a bit unorganized outside with the guards and different lines for different visas. There were only 2 other people apart from us there for their IR-1/CR-1 interview. After the security and bag check we entered the main building where they offer citizen services and visa interviews. The work/travel visa interviews are given in these little booths--the interviewees essentially stand while they're interviewed. The Immigrant Visa interviews are conducted in a separate room where you sit down. First there is a document review and then we waited for an hour for our actual interview. It was pretty upsetting because they told us that we were missing 2 documents. The NVC had sent us the checklist saying everything was fine and I had double checked several times. The document reviewer said we would still have our actual interview, which of course was good, but hard because after they l... read complete review

I waited there for almost 4 hours. I was the last of 15 people. Some people got a green sheet of paper with things missing. Only one girl had her visa denied because she stayed in the US illegally in the past and didn't have a waiver. The interview only lasted for 1 minute, yes, 1 minute. The consul asked when I met my husband, when and where we got married, if my husband had lived in Rio, what did he do during his staying there. And, he said, your visa has been approved! You are all set
Now i have to wait for the passport to be delivered to my address.
I am so happy!!!
It was completely underwhelming!!!!
Good luck for all of you!!!

My appointmet was at 1pm. You have to enter without making the line and they will give u a number. They will call you 1st to get all your papers and a 2nd time for the interview. I had to wait 1 hour and a half cause it was very croudy.
It took this woman 5 minutes to ask, where did I met him, when did we get engage, what did I do the last times I was there on my J1 and when was the last time I saw my fiance. and that was all. she loved all the pictures and laugh at some of them.
in 3 to 5 business day they will send the visa.

My fiance went by himself to the interview. We rehearsed all possible questions beforehand, just to prepare and went over all the paperwork. His interview was at 1 in the afternoon. An older lady did the interview and he waited about an hour before she called him in. He said she was very friendly and seemed very happy for both of us. She asked him to tell her how we met and a little bit about our history as a couple. She looked over the pictures and the phone records. She asked him what my parents names were and if I had brothers and sisters and where I work and what I do. She asked him what was the first thing he was going to do when he gets to the US and he said "get married"javascript:emoticon('')She also asked him where he was going to live.
Then she looked over the paperwork, had him swear to tell the truth and then sign a few papers. At some point they took his fingerprints. She said all was in order, gave him some paperwork back and told him t... read complete review
