We arrived ten minutes early and presented our interview notice. Five minutes after our scheduled time my name was called in and we were greeted by a nice IO lady, she swore us in and asked for our ID's.
We had a little detour when she openly asked us when we first met. I answered March 05 and my wife 06... oops! My bad, she was correct. I quickly learned to answer only when she was looking directly at me :-)... Suspecting funny stuff, she started firing random general chronological questions about our relationship... luckily we got them all right and were back on track. Phew!
She then proceeded to ask me the "have you ever..." type of questions from the I-485 form and then she asked for any evidence of marriage documents. No problem there I had a stack of stuff... She ended up keeping our bank statement, phone bills, house purchase agreement and our last tax return and also asked for my wife’s last pay stub. While I was fetching docs she flipped... read complete review

On November 1, 2006, I scheduled an online appointment to meet with the Washington DC CIS office on Prosperity Avenue. (Note: they don't allow you to stand in line unless it's 15 minutes from your scheduled appt. time). The waiting period once inside was about 20 minutes. The front counter personnel were very pleasant. The Immigration Officer printed out current status from the website (which I already had but appreciated the effort). He then explained once the I-129F is approved, the I-130 can be dropped and instructed to return to the CIS office to apply for I-485 AOS / EAD / SS #. He walked me to the front door and showed me where the forms are for applying for the I-485. Very courteous and helpful.

This review is for the Application Support Center in Alexandria Virginia...
Went there a month before my biometrics appointment was due to see if I could get a walk in...the supervisor wasn't happy about it, but I pleaded my case and acted like I was a naive stupid foreigner (always a good trick) and she let me go ahead.
One form and 5 minutes later I was having my fingerprints taken by a very nice chap who was polite and thought it was really funny that I was so interested in the neat biometrics machine.
His supervisor (who had to sign off on the prints and info) was also very polite. I was out of there in 15 minutes. It wasn't at all busy, it was a nice calm environment and everyone was very helpful.
It may be a little different at busy times, but I can say on Tuesday mornings when they have just opened it is a decent place to go.
You can Metro to Huntingdon and then take a bus which will drop you off right outside the bui... read complete review
