Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

I thought I had done this already!

I found the process confusing. Certainly, I once again felt an attorney was an unnecessary expense, as is the consensus of this site.

The interviewer tried his best intimidation and interrogation techniques. It was very awkward due to the fact I, the US citizen, had murky living arrangements for a couple of years. The officer really zeroed in on that, and caused us great calamity, with my wife sure that we had failed.

But in fact, our paperwork was approved so fast, we were caught off guard by the speed with which it all happened.

Whew.

Be strong, be honest and take a ton of evidence with you that you're really together.

I had a great time at the Local CIS Office today. It wasn't crowded at all, we were an hour early and got called in about 45 minutes later. The whole interview was super friendly and easy.
We were asked about our birthdays and full names, went through the whole I-485 form and talked a bit about working remotely.

We were told that we would get the approval after another background check and when we got home it said Card in Production. So I guess that's all I needed to know. We were out 20 minutes past hour inital interview time.

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Had an interview today for my wife's AOS to green card. It was at 12:30pm, we arrived just after noon and waited in a line for 5 minutes to go through security. Just like the airport, minus the shoes removal.
The interview notice said first floor, but security directed us to second floor. We checked in with the reception desk, and they took the interview letter, confirmed our ID's and told us our name will be called. The waiting room is huge, multiple doors where IO's come out and call names. Very spacious and modern.
We waited about 20-30 minutes and then we were called. The IO led us to his office and he confirmed our ID's again and wrote down my DL #. Our casefile is massive, probably 6". I asked him about it at the end and he said it has our K-1 visa initial filing as well as AOS on the other side attached to the top with a metal clasp through 2 holes in the papers. Let's just say that I submitted everything that I could possibly think of for the initial filin... read complete review

My interview was at 8.10am so me and my husband arrived at 7.30am.
There was a security line outside the building and as we went inside we had to get everything go through the scanners.
The AOS interview was on the second level and there was a lot of people, we didnt get called in for an interview until around 8.20-ish.
The lady that we had the interview with was friendly and very nice.
She went over the G325A forms individually for both me and my husband going over each question. Then she asked us a couple of questions about our married life, parents thoughts etc. We showed her a couple of pictures and documents showing bona fide relationship then it was all over. No decision at the actual interview she said that we would receive notice in the mail within the next 2 weeks on the decision. Overall there were no problems and it was great.

Anyone who is living in the San Francisco Bay Area (SFBA) and waiting for the biometrics to be done. Just do a walk-in to the SFO INS Field office.
