First of all, in case you didn't read my other post we were:

APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is my experience as a thank you to all of you that have helped my wife and I through answers to our many questions or just for providing a place to let off steam.

Appointment time: 2.30pm

12.00pm Set off from In-Laws (about an hour out side the cities) to have lunch with Mother-in-Law. Make sure NOT to order Meatball sub.

12.45pm Set off for interview - roads surprisingly quiet

1.35pm Arrive at Metro drive for interivew, use upper parking lot where the doors to the building are. Attempt to go in wrong door. The immigration door is not the one under the concrete canopy, it is to the left of this as you look at the building. After you going through security, we were directed to the stairs, at the top of the stairs are the bathrooms, if you need to go I wouold do so now. After this is... read complete review

OK, so we got it - we're approved...and here's the interview story:

We arrive about 12.05 at St Paul, had no trouble finding the building - parked on the higher side, and went in through the doors, got everything scanned, walked through the metal door thing that goes *beep* (heh...) and then got scanned again. Went up the stairs, to the left, past the sign that said "Deportation and Removal" (with an arrow *shudders*) and into the waiting room, after sticking the letter in the tray.

We sat down in a medium-full waiting room, which quickly became full of different people, many of them with lawyers. Ben was getting anxious and said to me "everyone has lawyers", so I explained that not all cases are as simple as ours, and some people do need to "lawyer-up". So that calmed him a little, and with a bit of eye-closing and fidgeting, he did avoid sheer panic Bless him! Luckily though, we were called in shortly after that (must have been around our designate... read complete review

The AOS interview was a anti-climatic. Very simple and done in about 10 minutes, if that. She asked general questions about my spouses family and where we met. That was all!

My wife's AOS interview was scheduled for Aug 31 at 9:30am.

We arrived at the Bloomington office at 9am and passed through security. They sent us up to the the floor above and we dropped off our interview notice at the reception window. The receptionist unlocked the door and we entered the waiting room. There were around 15 to 20 people waiting for their names to be called.

At around 9:50am a gentlemen came through a locked door and called our names. He greeted us very pleasantly and ushered us down the hallway to his office. We took a seat and he started thumbing his way through our file (which was about 3 to 4 inches thick) and swore us to tell the truth.

He asked us a few questions:

1) What is our address?
2) Where did we meet?
3) What I do for a living?
4) How long we knew each other before we were engaged?
5) A few questions from the application (deported before, drugs, .etc...)
