Interview , Jan 26th, 2010 K-1/K-2
Bloomington, MN
We were called in by a gentleman only a few minutes late for our first appointment.
He said, "sit where you want".
Then my wife and daughter were sworn in.
He checked my wife and daughter’s passports.
He asked my wife:
Where do you live?
Parents names?
Your married name?
How many children do you have?
What are the children’s names?
When were the children born?
What is your home phone number?
Then he switched to variations of questions on the I-485:
Have you ever been arrested?
Have you ever been in jail?
Have you ever been a US citizen before?
Have you ever been deported?
Then back to personal questions:
He asked, “do you or your daughter have SS numbers?” (My wife does, but our daughter does not yet)
Then he asked my wife if her daughte... read complete review

Interview was in early 2004 during husband's asylum only proceddings. We were called in for an interview about one year after filing of the I-130.
It was a fairly invasive interview. I went in first while my husband stayed in the lobby with our newborn son. I was asked very personal questions and the officer(male) wrote down all of my answers. When it was my husband's turn(I stayed in the lobby with our son), he was asked the same questions as me but the officer went down the list checking his answers against mine.
Other than being terribly invasive, they were polite. We did not receive any verbal approval or idea of how long it would take. In fact, it took another 1.5 years before our I-130 approval was received.

We got to the building at 8:35 for our 9am interview. Went through security and went to the third floor. Put our letter in the box and then went inside and sat down and waited. I was honestly surprised how casual people were dressed!! I saw lots with lawyers.
Around 9:10am a man name Jim called us. He introduced himself and told us to follow him through the maze of hallways. As we walked, he said he appreciated that we had taken the time to dress up a bit. He said people don't really take the interview serious sometimes.
Finally we got to his office, he swore us in and we sat down. He said he was going to go over a couple things with us. He asked my husband for his ID, social number, address. Then asked were we met, when we got married, and if he had any children.
He turned to me, asked for my passport and social number. I still haven't remembered my number yet so I had to get my card out and read it.
He asked me all the questions on ... read complete review

Waiting room had about 30 people in it and it was pretty busy the entire time we were there. We arrived about 20 minutes early and within 1 hour we had left. Interview lasted about 10-15 minutes. We did get the I-551 stamp in Trisha's passport since we were traveling back to the Philippines in a few weeks. She should have her GC in 2-3 weeks.

We had our AOS interview on May 08, 2009 at 2:00 PM and my wife was told by the officer that she intended to approve her after reviewing the file one more time to make sure all the paperwork is there.
Here is our experience:
We reached St. Paul USCIS office around 1:25 PM with our two kids. Security check was easy as opposed to what I was expecting considering two little kids. We were told to go to the 3rd floor for interview and we did just that. We gave our interview notification to the receptionist, who told us to go and sit in the waiting area. We were pleasantly surprised as we walked into the waiting area and saw just one couple ahead of us. There was literally nobody in waiting area - not sure if it was Friday afternoon effect or something else. The couple ahead of us was called in as we were settling down with our kids in the waiting area. They were called in by a very nice and smiling officer. We did not why, but that smiling officer made us a li... read complete review
