Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

The appointment was at 9.30 we got there around 8.45. We went through the security and they took out appointment letter and made us wait in a waiting area. We were then called in around 9.15 by a middle aged male IO. He asked for our IDs and made us take the oath and he stated asking certain basic question like name, address, when did we first meet, my current place of employment, her place of employment, when did we first start dating and some question from I485. He then asked us if we wanted to give him any other additional joint documents, on which my wife stated dumping (literally :-) ) all our documents like refinancing car loans for both our cars, previous car loan together, car insurance papers, health insurance, costco membership, gym membership, joint jeweler’s line of credit, bank accounts, leases for the two places we lived together, this year joint tax return, 401k beneficiary documents, etc. He also asked us for our joint phone bill but unfortunately Verizon doesn't p... read complete review

Really great interview. Fast. Just needed my long-form birth certificate which I sent immediately. Approved for conditional green card the following week.

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

I had my interview for AOS from k1 this morning at 830am in my local office. We arrived at about 800am and went through the security/metal detector and were told to wait in the waiting room. For those of you who are in the same area - it is the waiting room opposite the one where they did the biometrics and the room with the infopass appointment windows.

At just after 900am we were called and were shown to a small room by a friendly middle aged woman. She made us "swear to tell the truth" etc before sitting down and raising our right hands.

She then asked us to sit and we had to fill in a sheet of paper (one each, both identical) asking for name, address, phone number and employment if any then handed them back. She then asked us "How did you meet?" which I answered, then she asked us "Why did we decided to come to USA rather than stay in Scotland?" which I answered.

She then asked if we had any evidence our us living together/having joint b... read complete review

I attended this office twice. Once for biometrics. Once for AOS interview.
Biometrics was fine, the man seemed very terse when I heard him dealing with some people prior to me, but he was really friendly when it came my turn. After the fingerprinting etc he actually shook my hand and wished me good luck.

The AOS I didn't feel so good about. We wait an hour and were then interviewed by an older lady and while she wasn't mean or rude or tough, it was a nerve wracking experience. She gave no indication of how it was going and frankly was more perturbed than I thought she needed to be about the fact that we maintain personal bank accounts along side our joint account! In any case the interview ended, she said we would hear her decision within 60 days but we got online approval within EOB that day.

All in all we submitted our AOS march 9th and I got approved May 9th. Not a bad turn around time at all it appears.
