I had my interview for AOS from k1 this morning at 830am in my local office. We arrived at about 800am and went through the security/metal detector and were told to wait in the waiting room. For those of you who are in the same area - it is the waiting room opposite the one where they did the biometrics and the room with the infopass appointment windows.
At just after 900am we were called and were shown to a small room by a friendly middle aged woman. She made us "swear to tell the truth" etc before sitting down and raising our right hands.
She then asked us to sit and we had to fill in a sheet of paper (one each, both identical) asking for name, address, phone number and employment if any then handed them back. She then asked us "How did you meet?" which I answered, then she asked us "Why did we decided to come to USA rather than stay in Scotland?" which I answered.
She then asked if we had any evidence our us living together/having joint bills etc. We gave her details of our joint bank account, joint credit card account and Verizon family plan with both numbers and photos from a holiday last year. She kept the credit card and Verizon info and then asked a few of the yes/no quesntions from the I485 form before saying she was "approving this today" and took my I94.
She said that I would receive my GC within about 2 weeks. I asked her if she could stamp my passport with a temporary I551 stamp as I am hoping to travel home in less than that. She said she couldn't here but to go out and make an infopass appointment and they will (if I bring the itenerary).
We thanked her and left her office (in and out in less than 10 minutes) and went to schedule an infopass appointment for 1030am (same day). We waited until about 1130am and the same woman who interviewed us did my infopass appointment and gave me the temporary stamp in my passport with a 1 month validity to allow reentry if my GC hadn't arrived by then, she took my EAD/AP card here too.
I had a Decision/approval email by 300pm.
