n. After security check and everything, it was by 9:15am. We waited for around 2 hours. Finally met our interviewer. She was super nice and friendly. Our interview took less than 5mins. Of course I got approved! Yay

Our appointment was for 8.45 am, and we were in Newark at 7.45 am. We tried to park on the street, by a parking meter, but a police officer helpfully told us that parking is not allowed until 9 am. He proceeded to tell us how to get to the very reasonably priced parking lot ($5 all day!) which was super nice of him.
The entry procedure into the USCIS building was a chore, people were let in in groups of 5 and were searched and went through the metal detector, of course I had to go through it a couple of times due to my hair pin
When that was all done, we went to the 14th floor, and proceeded to wait until 9.15 (so half an hour later than our appointment time), when at last we were called in.
Our interviewer was a nice, young, cheerful lady, who made the process a breeze. We had our documentation prepared by a lawyer, so absolutely nothing was missing. We brought a couple of photos with us and a new tax return, together with payslips and employer v... read complete review

I went for my interview at the Newark field office today and got approved on the spot. The interview lasted no later than 10 mins. It was way easier than I expected. The officer was an elderly lady and only asked how did I meet my spouse and what's my occupation. Then she asked for our bank statements (last 3 months), phone bills (last 3 months), lease, renters insurance and health insurance. She smiled and said thank God we never wasted money on an attorney. She then asked for our photo album and the first photo she saw (our wedding photo with the justice of peace making us say vows) she said "I love this one" and gave me back the album without looking further. She then told us we are approved and will get the card in the mail. She went over the green card conditions and sent us on a merry way.

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Hi Guys!
Just wanted to let you know that we had the AOS interview this morning.

So it was in Newark NJ, Broad street federal building.
The appointment was at 8.45am we got there at 8.30. We had to go through security and it took at least 15 mins but the guys were very nice. They took my tweezers though so don't bring anything like tweezers or clippers etc.

We checked in at the 14th floor at 9am, we had to wait for 2 hours as it was freezing. They finally called my name, we got in the office with the immigration Officer Mr Rodriguez.

He first asked for IDs, then a proof that we were living in Jersey City, I didn't bring any lease or utility bills as I thought that both our names should be on the bills (only my husbands name is on the bills but we have a joint account). Also we forgot to file out the G-325A form for my husband, I thought that it was only for me, so he told us to go back to the waiting area an... read complete review
