interview was scheduled at 9am.
garden city is NOT very easy to get to via public transportation, it involved us catching a 7am LIRR. turns out there are buses from garden city and hempstead LIRR that go to a big mall that is on Stewart Ave not too far from the immigrations building. MTA card works on the buses.
got to Garden City 835am. walk was longer than we expected and our map did not properly depict where building was. so we got there at 920. turns out you have a one hour grace period. but one hour only- if you show up over an hour late, your interview is cancelled.
we were called at 945 to go upstairs with a group.
we waited upstairs about 1.5hrs before being called.
the interview took maybe 30min. we brought a wheeling suitcase with all our info and i was glad we did.
we brought:
-copies of all immigration paperwork we filled out/recieved (actually brought two copies of everything)
-two photo albums

Appointment at 9:00 AM. Name called at about 10:00 AM. Waited another 20 minutes and was seen by interviewer. We were asked polite questions about wife's detalis. Wife was asked about about address, my birthdate. We provided tax documents and my citizenship certificate. Interview lasted 10 minutes. Interviewer took passport.
Then sent back to waiting room to collect passport with stamp. Told greencard would arrive within 4 weeks.

We were scheduled for our interview in Garden City, Long Island. Very efficient getting us through the waiting rooms. Hardly waited at all. I (the petitioner) was asked many many more questions than the beneficiary. Regardless, we were approved.

very basic, same as everyone else, very nice officer. sailed through even though hubby had answered yes to 'have you ever been arrested'. the interview had come up so quickly that medical results weren't received by uscis from the DOS. So we did walk out with an RFE and then had to pay for hubby to get yet another medical and vaccinations at our expense. overnighted them and had the greeen card lickety-split.
