New York City NY | Review on August 25, 2007: | New Yorker
Rating: | Review Topic: Adjustment of Status
Our interview was scheduled for 7.30AM we were there around 7.00AM and get into the building INMEDIATELY..,they ask for the NOA to register the applicant and they kept it. we wait in the room for about 2 hours and got called.
After we went into a small office, the officer asked us to be sworned in. And then the interview began:
the questions to my wife(she is the US citizen):
Only ONE question!
Is this your first marriage?
AND QUESTIONS TO ME- APPLICANT
- what is your current address?
- Do you bring the original marriage certificate and the birth certificate
- show me your passport
- the yes/no questions from the I-485 application form. I WAS ASKED TO SIGN IT.
- Do you have JOINT ACCOUNT? AND BIRTH CERT.(give the officer the original and copy, he kept the copy).
I HAD A BINDER FULL OF EVIDENCE AND A BIG ALBUM. HE DID NOT WANT TO CHECK THEM. SO HE DID NOT SEE ANY EVIDENCE.
At the end of the interview, the officer said IF WE HAVE ANY QUESTIONS..THAT THE CASE IS UNDER REVIEW AND NOTICE WILL ARRIVE BY MAIL WITHIN 2 WEEKS. I didn't get any stamp on my passport.
The whole interview only last about 15 min a LITTLE BIT painful because officer was EXTREMELY SERIOUS, he looked like angry.. we hope everything went well, even i have an ovestay in the past and i told the officer whn he asked.
good luck to everyone.
