AOS interview in Garden City, NY – Received I551 Stamp!
We had our AOS interview in the USCIS Garden City office, and my Permanent Residency application was approved!
Here are some notes for those who are expecting an interview (especially at the Garden City office).
As far as I could see, the USCIS website somehow no longer has any information of the Garden City office. (It only lists information on the Manhattan office, which I visited for biometric processing.) So for those who are going to the Garden City office, I'm adding at the bottom of this posting the directions that I found on the net after some google searches.
Although the interview appointment letter noted a room number on the second floor, once we got to the USCIS building we were told to take the appointment letter to a booth in a big hall on the first floor. We had gotten to the office very early, so we sat there for a very long time, but about half hour before our ... read complete review

Hi guys,
Here is my experience from today interview in Garden city.
Me and my husband came there at 1:30pm. It was so much people there, and immediately I got headache. I can't remember when they call us upstairs (because immigration officer was mean, and I don't feel good right now). But I know that it was around 3pm and we were waiting upstairs.

I was so confused beacuse it is written on instruction that american citizen exept for name and signature doesn't need to repeat information given on I-130, but whenever we fill it and then after 15 minutes she came and we gave her, and she call us to come in office.
She swear us, and ask us 2 times do we need interpretor, and we said no.
After that she asked both of us for birth certificate with translation, certified copy of marriage certificate, my ead, passeport ofme and my husband, and she ... read complete review

2nd interview. Total mess, we both had the flu. I don't remember much about it but it was later approved so I guess it went O.K.

On August 28th my husband and I arrived at the USCIS center in Graden City, Long Island at 8:00 am. It took us about a 30 min wait before we were called upstairs to the interview waiting area. Then about 1 hour and 15 minutes before we were called to the interview room by a friendly immigration officer. She asked a couple questions like...how did we meet?...how long were we dating before we decided to get married?...and then asked for proof of our marriage. We gave her a few bills we shared in our name, our health insurance card and our daughter's birth certificate. Everything was going smoothly until she informed us that our immigration doctor did not fill out some paperwork correctly so although she wanted to approve us she couldn't without the corrections. I felt a bit disappointed, but the good news is that she offered us an alternative. She said that if we hurried to the doctor's office and give her the corrected paperwork that she would approve us and stamp t... read complete review
