The interview was fine. No additional materials were needed and the interview itself only lasted about 30 min, half of that time being spent waiting for approval stamps/signatures. The worst part was waiting afterwards, which took about an hour before I could collect my stamped passport.

Thanks to EVERYONE AT VISA JOURNEY!!
My AOS was recently approved and so I wanted to share our experience in hopes that it could help others. Everything went very smoothly from start to finish and it was definitely a result of the good advice (of a dear friend) I found on this website.
We put together our package following the visajourney guides *to the letter*. The instructions that come with the immigration forms are very confusing and if that was all we'd had to go by then I'm sure we would have messed up. So the visajourney guides were a huge help. We did everything, even if it seemed redundant or necessary. Our package contained:
Anyway, we mailed the package in late July (7/28) and received our NOA on 3 August. We never got any RFEs . My biometrics appt was scheduled 9/2/09 (btw I did an early walk-in - 8/22). I did not apply of EAD nor AP as I'm not working and taking care of our 2 year old son and yes it's tough on one salary but it goes a... read complete review

Garden City NY
It was a long day, the interview was scheduled at 2 pm in Garden City, NY. We arrived at 1 pm and had to wait until 3 pm to be called. There were just sooo many couples. Some officers calling people were so nice and smiling right away, some were not showing any emotions at all. We were called by a woman who at first didn't look nice but once we were in her room, she was smiling and joking. She wanted to swear us in and told us to remain standing, and my husband didn't understand what to do at first - he went back to the door. She laughed and said - don't go, it's not over yet)
Then she asked for our ID's, I-94, marriage certificate. Asked if my husband had a driver's license, and was surprised that he didn't have one. Then she asked how we got to the Immigration Office, he explained all our route with the buses, trains etc. She said that the taxi drivers were awful over there, and we made a good deal payin $27 compared wi... read complete review

how could i say this in just a few sentences..the look on the face of the immigration officer was that of an old guidance counselor and my wife and i were too old to be in school. not a happy smile for the arriving couple, us. i was worried, but not nervous. as we sat down with our lawyer present, he asked for photos and passports and proceeded to flip through them beyond pointlessly, looking for some odd part that didn't fit right. he actually mentioned that 'there needs to be negatives...do you have any negatives?' he asked. 'they could be digitally altered' i was speechless except for the "no" in the back of my throat that was forced out. it seemed we didn't bring enough evidence for him to give us a stamp that we both awaited anxiously for. not a question for my wife until the end when he asked her everything under the sun. that was it..nothing more, no questions, or 'i call you' or good luck with the rest...he wrote 'pending' and his name and badge #. or something. i don... read complete review

My case is a little different than others. My AOS based on an approved vawa petition.
My lawyer and I got there 20 minutes before the interview. At the "door" they asked us to turn off our cellphones - my is faulty, for some reason it's never shuts down. I tried to explain it to the security guy, but that was just a waste of time. I pretended to turned it off anyway.
After we got in the huge waiting room, we went to the window to give the appointment notice to the "clerk".
Then we waited. Two hours passed by until they called my name. At least I've got to know my lawyer a bit. We were talkning a lot about kind of everything. She is a devoted woman, a smart one, working for a non-profit organization whom will fight for justice until se can. She is not the part of the "green-card-factory" that I had a chance to witness at the waiting room.
Most of them never even met they client(s), but they have cases approved. 2-3 on a daily basis. 5000 bucks. Daily... read complete review
