Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

THIS REVIEW IS FOR SAN FERNANDO VALLEY FIELD OFFICE. A BRANCH OF LOS ANGELES OFFICE. PLEASE ADD THIS OFFICE TO THE LIST. THEY JUST SEPARATED A FEW MONTHS AGO.

We arrived there at 8:15 for out 8:45 appointment. Security was a breeze. We sat in the waiting area which is a huge room in a brand new building. The people working there were pleasant and polite. They were running behind on Green Card Appointments hence we saw an officer at 1040.

Finally we get called and he decided to interview us separately since we have been married less than a year.

After verifying my information, he asked for bank accounts and such. in my nervous state i couldnt find it. But i found copies of pink slips and confirmations of previous flight we had together, Hotels and gifts. once i found the statements i offered them but he said that the previous would sufice.

We talked about my one Criminal problem something that happened when i was barely 18. the... read complete review

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Firstly I would like to say that I was very upset with the way my interview went.

We were mailed our interview letter letting us know we had a 9:30 appointment at the Los Angeles USCIS building. Parking was impossible to find (probably due to the fact we got there particularly early). The Building was easy to find, its the same building the IRS is in so naturally there was a huge line to get it. We had got there 2 hours early (can't trust good ol' L.A traffic, so we would rather be early than super late) We decided to wait outside until a little closer to our interview time (big mistake).

We had lined up to get inside and go through security about 1 hour before our interview. The man who was directing people outside said it would be a good idea to get up there ASAP because its ALWAYS packed. So a word of advice to anyone with an interview, get there 2 hours early, line up, go through security, go to level 6 and sit down and wait. Because it will take 2 ho... read complete review

The interviewer was polite and non-threatening. He said he could tell right away we were a real couple, and barely looked at the thick binder of "relationship evidence" we brought in.

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

I wanted to share our adjustment of status interview because the experiences on this website that people shared have helped me & my wife a lot through this exhausting process.
First the background info.
I'm a US citizen and my wife is mexican and adjusting from a B1/B2 visa.
We married in Sept. 2009 but had been living apart until last october when she arrived in the us for a business trip, after which she would stay with me for a month. during her visit, my temporary job became permanent allowing me to support us in the US, so when I found out we could adjust her status because she was inspected at the POE even though it was with a B1/B2 Visa, I asked her to stay and go through the process immediately because I was tired from all the hassle and expense of traveling back and forth to visit each other. She talked with her company to arrange a leave of absence and since she's in such good standing with the company it was granted.

So here's the timeline... read complete review
