Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

THIS REVIEW IS FOR SAN FERNANDO VALLEY FIELD OFFICE. A BRANCH OF LOS ANGELES OFFICE. PLEASE ADD THIS OFFICE TO THE LIST. THEY JUST SEPARATED A FEW MONTHS AGO.

We arrived there at 8:15 for out 8:45 appointment. Security was a breeze. We sat in the waiting area which is a huge room in a brand new building. The people working there were pleasant and polite. They were running behind on Green Card Appointments hence we saw an officer at 1040.

Finally we get called and he decided to interview us separately since we have been married less than a year.

After verifying my information, he asked for bank accounts and such. in my nervous state i couldnt find it. But i found copies of pink slips and confirmations of previous flight we had together, Hotels and gifts. once i found the statements i offered them but he said that the previous would sufice.

We talked about my one Criminal problem something that happened when i was barely 18. there is a clause allowing one criminal charge as long as it is minor and was taken care of.

then he proceded to ask questions regarding my entry. i had lost my pastport (i moved to the us on a B2 Visa when i was 13) i told him i couldnt locate my pastport. he didnt fuzz about it he just said he would look it up on the computer.

He asked me questions about our appartment such as:
how much is rent?
is there a matt outside the shower?
shower or tub?
color of bar soap?
curtain colors in bathroom?
curtains in room? color? blinds?
bed sheets at the moment?
when and how we met?
when and how we became engaged?
how big the apartment is? how many beds and baths?
If we met eachother parents and their names?

after he intervied me he intervied my wife. asked the same questions and within 5 minutes she was out with a letter saying that there was an adminitrative review pending. we left the office a litte bummed out because we have been wanting to go to mexico since we met and the sooner the better. Got lunch and napped.

At 3:30 pm i received the glorious Email

CARD/DOCUMENT PRODUCTION

We are planning Mexico and a trip to my native country and meet the rest of my family!

JUST A TIP: EAT BEFORE GOING... WE SPENT 3 HOURS for our 25 min interview!
