Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Went in for biometrics a couple weeks before my appointment. It was a great experience. Took around an hour and had no issues. They said they have no issues with walk ins at all.

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Due to late mail we received the biometric appointment notification from USCIS 1 day after the assigned appointment date (USCIS set an appointment within 2 weeks of mailing the notice to us). Rather than mailing a snail-mail request for another biometrics appointment which could take weeks to process, we took a chance and drove nearly 4 hours to arrive at 8am at the Helena office. The people in the office were really friendly and understanding, and despite missing our original appointment by 2 days, they completed the biometrics in less than 20 minutes.

By the way, they indicated that they occasionally processed other "walk-ins" from other states who happen to be passing through Montana. Also they said they have processed biometrics for people as much as 1 week earlier than their assigned appointment. People working here were nice and friendly and appeared to have no issues with walk-ins. Also they told me that sometimes they can get busy with as many as 20 people a ... read complete review

Amazing office. Not very much traffic through this office and everyone is always really nice, really fast and really pleasant to deal with. As was the interviewer. We brought tons of stuff, she asked us some questions, the interview took about 10 minutes and we were out. I was surprised at how pleasant and non threatening the experience was.

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

I had my interview on 7/26/07 at the Helena, Montana field office at 9:30 am.

After a 90 min drive, we arrived at 9:25 am, signed in, and waited approximately 10-15 min with noone else waiting (gotta love Montana!). We were called in and sworn in before sitting. The IO then asked if we wanted the interview notice letter back, so I kept it.
After flicking through a few pages of the application, we were both asked to verify the birth certificates provided in the application and asked a few questions regarding birth place, birth date, parents' names. She handed the certificates back to us for our records.
The IO asked for our passports and verfied our identity. She asked my wife how we met. She removed the I-94 from my passport and cancelled my H-1B entry visa in my passport and explained why she was doing that (change of status). Next she asked for my social security card and EAD. She kept the EAD and said I could go to the social security office to change th... read complete review

Very pleasant experience. Our Examiner was called Mimi and she told us this was the first time in a long time she'd seen so much evidence of a relationship which she actually believed. We had a suitcase full of stuff but she only asked for certified copies of birth, divorce and marriage certificates. She also asked to see letters addressed to both of us and our wedding album.

I wasn't asked any questions, but John (USC) was asked how we met, my place of birth and parents' names.

We were there for about 30 mins and I asked if I could keep advanced parole doc as I was hoping to visit my family over the New Year.

My green card arrived on Dec 26 - just 12 days after interview
