Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

We had our Interview on May 19th, 2008 and it was easy. We got there about 20 minutes before our appointment. Parking was free and right next to the building. We went through security and then dropped the appointment letter of. We waited 5 minutes and were called in the office. The officer had our file in front of her and basically just asked us all the questions from the form again. She also asked how we ment, if my husband met my parents yet and if I had met his son yet. That was it. She gave me the stamp in my passport right there, because she said they are changing the computers right now and the card production will take a little longer. She kept my AP and my employment authorazation and that was it. It took all together about twenty minutes!

My wife and I had her interview on February 5th. Her appointment time was 11 AM, but we got there at 10:45. The other people who came with us was my immigration lawyer and my Mom. All of us walked in, waited about 30 minutes because the entire lobby was packed. Finally, the immigration officer called my wife's name. Before going in she asked "who are these 2 people?" I told her that's my attorney and the other lady is my Mom. My wife is from Iran and she knows english, but she has a little bit of a problem communicating, so the officer told my Mom to wait outside then she'll call her if she's needs her. She told us to come over to her little office space, raise our right hands and promise to tell the truth, and we both agreed. I had a bag with me full of wedding pictures, bank accounts, income tax forms, utility bills, etc. Whatever she wanted, I was ready to give her what she asked for. Then she asked my wife a few questions like "how did the two of you meet?", "what's your ... read complete review

the person that was supposed to interview us didn't come in so we had another lady who was so nice and appologetic for taking so long. We were told about the fines and legalities of lying under oath, told we would be videotaped, then I was asked to leave while she asked my husband questions, then he was with her about 45 minutes, I came in and was only with her about 20 minutes, she passed us

Easy, easy, easy. Sat in the waiting room for a whopping 45 seconds (seriously, we sat down and stood right back up).

The woman who did our interview was very nice, the interview lasted about 10 or so minutes, and we were out at 8:15am (our appointment was at 8:30am!!). Have absolutely nothing bad to say about it, it was fast, it was easy, the place was clean, the people were nice.

5/5, 100%!!

Had interview on 2/24 - arrived 40 minutes early. Told by the guards to place interview letter in tray. After a minute or two we fond the tray. Interview lasted 10 minutes. Usual oath and 'no' answers (do you have plans to overthrow the government, etc). Only wanted joint bank statement, health insurance documents and wedding pictures (to the ceromony we had in the UK) - no copies of anything submitted, not even to look at the originals. Had a feeling the pictures did it. Said we were approved, and then I sprung the travel plans on her - flying to the uk on 2/26! Mentioned I was going to fly during Xmas but I didn't becuase of knee problems... which is just as well as she said the K3 visa isn't a multiple entry visa?!? I'm sure it is. Anyway, got temp I-551 stamp. :-)) We were the only couple there dressed casually... in our Northern Michigan winter gear. Celebrated by buying stuff from Pewabic Pottery. Then drove back to Traverse City - glad we didn't have to spend another night in th... read complete review
