the person that was supposed to interview us didn't come in so we had another lady who was so nice and appologetic for taking so long. We were told about the fines and legalities of lying under oath, told we would be videotaped, then I was asked to leave while she asked my husband questions, then he was with her about 45 minutes, I came in and was only with her about 20 minutes, she passed us

Easy, easy, easy. Sat in the waiting room for a whopping 45 seconds (seriously, we sat down and stood right back up).
The woman who did our interview was very nice, the interview lasted about 10 or so minutes, and we were out at 8:15am (our appointment was at 8:30am!!). Have absolutely nothing bad to say about it, it was fast, it was easy, the place was clean, the people were nice.
5/5, 100%!!

Had interview on 2/24 - arrived 40 minutes early. Told by the guards to place interview letter in tray. After a minute or two we fond the tray. Interview lasted 10 minutes. Usual oath and 'no' answers (do you have plans to overthrow the government, etc). Only wanted joint bank statement, health insurance documents and wedding pictures (to the ceromony we had in the UK) - no copies of anything submitted, not even to look at the originals. Had a feeling the pictures did it. Said we were approved, and then I sprung the travel plans on her - flying to the uk on 2/26! Mentioned I was going to fly during Xmas but I didn't becuase of knee problems... which is just as well as she said the K3 visa isn't a multiple entry visa?!? I'm sure it is. Anyway, got temp I-551 stamp. :-)) We were the only couple there dressed casually... in our Northern Michigan winter gear. Celebrated by buying stuff from Pewabic Pottery. Then drove back to Traverse City - glad we didn't have to spend another night in th... read complete review

arrived at 9 for a 10 am appointment. They called us in at 10:10. Swore us in. Asked my wife approx 20 questions from 485 form. Asked for proof of Bank statements , living together etc. We were nervous because we realized we forgot a certified copy of marriage certificate but they had the one we mailed in with the application. She then asked how we met, and if we could leave photos of us for the file. We were then approved. All in about 10 to 15 minutes. We interviewed on 2-4 and received approval letter on 2-7. Now just waiting for the green card to arrive.

My wife and I had our interview on September 8th of this year and it went smoothly with no issues. We arrived early with our documents, pictures, etc. Since we had an early appointment around 9am, there was available, free parking. The waiting room was crowded, and as other interviewees mentioned, most people were in very casual dress. We dressed nicely, but not formal.
We were worried about our case because my wife is from China and was living in the US (adjusting her status from student) while I have been working in Japan for a US company. However, because I still keep my residence at my parents' home in Michigan, with US bank accounts, voter registration, etc. we didn't run into questions about our distance apart.
We were very careful in our application and rather than hire a lawyer, we made phone calls to Chinese-American lawyers in New York City to ask questions. They were good about answering our general questions about our unique situation. The only... read complete review
