My interview was on Nov 20th 2013 at 12:50pm. By that time my husband and I had been married for about 3 1/2 years. Our lawyer had already told us that Detroit is one of the best places to go for an interview since they are very easy. It is however 3 1/2 hrs away from our home. We arrived about 20min early. The security personnel were friendly and helpful. The lady at the front desk had a little bit of an attitude though. We waited for about 30-40min and were called in to the interview. The Immigration officer was very friendly. He is a retired marine (i think) officer. He said he was 54 years old. He swore us in and asked me the necessary questions he has to ask like "If i am a part of Taliban, Irish republic army, etc. I think that is part of the swearing routine. The only personal questions he asked us was how long we have been married and if we have any children. Then he granted my status! He did not even ask to see any of the documents we had brought. It must h... read complete review

Our interview went very well and quicker than we had anticipated. The officer we met who interviewed us was very professional and courteous during the interview. Overall, the interview was a very satisfying culmination to my adjustment of status process, and i was granted approval for a Conditional Permanent Residency at the end of the interview.

My husband was approved! We got there about 20 minutes early, which helped, I think. We were one of the first people called back. We were sworn in, and the lady asked to see our ID. She asked us about how we met and stuff like that. Then she went over the application with my husband responding yes or no. I tried not to laugh when she asked if he intended to have more than one wife.
She told us about removing conditions and that we'd have to apply right before the 2-year mark. Then she said she had to do a background check, but would be approving the green card if everything was okay! She also asked to keep one of our wedding pictures. I found one that showed both of our faces. I think the only other thing she asked for was proof of our relationship. I gave her our bank statement.

To cut the long description from the security guards at the door to when the interviewing officer called me and my wife for the interview, it was an hour n thirty mins wait for us to be called, the IO led us to his office, swore us in and as a reminder, im adjusting from K-1, IO told me right away that my petition has been approved cus am adjusting from K-1 and that he's just gonna run through the paperwork, funny though but in between he the questions started pouring in... how did we meet? how long did my k-1 process took? how long did we dated before she came to visit me? how long did she spend? then he asked me her full name, DOB, address, my full name, my DOB, if i currently work? he requested to see my pics, marriage cert and he took my I-94. I am one of those who submitted my unexpired DS-3025 and never bothered about the I-693,IO never demanded to see anything else asides my pics and original marriage cert and that was all. He stamped my petition and reminded me to remove condit... read complete review

My husband (US citizen) and I walked in USCIS Detroit ten minutes prior to our appointment. After a security check, the receptionist told us to enter the waiting room with many windows (like bank teller's) where about 30 people were waiting. He also gave us a number which would be called upon our turn. Our number was called in about five minutes and we went to our window. Our clerk took our appointment letter, checked our passport/ID and told us to wait in the same room until my name was called. It was a clean, spacious room with a lot of natural light which made us less nervous.
About 15 minutes later, a lady called my name and led us to an area where there are many small rooms. While we were walking in the hallway, she asked me if she pronounced my name correctly (it was perfect!). We entered one of the rooms and found out that the lady was our officer and the room was her office. We were told to stand in front of her desk, raise our right hands and take an oath. ... read complete review
