Me and my wife from Russia had our AOS interview here. We had to wait 40 minutes after our appointed time. When we entered, we were greeted nicely by the IO. We walked to her office and we sat as if it were a real job interview. The total interview lasted about 30 minutes, but it seemed shorter. The first questions began about how we met each other and the conversation flowed along other subjects from there. The IO seemed very interested in our case and me and my wife actually had fun telling her all of our amazing stories! It was a great experience and not horrible as others have depicted it to be.

I applied for US Citizenship based on 3yrs marriage.
I arrived at Dallas office at 7:30am, was called in about 8:15am. Interview lasted about 20min or so.
Officer wasn't very friendly at first (not even good morning) but after a few minutes she started to loosen up.
Since she noticed I could speak English well, she jumped straight into the civic and writing portion of the interview.
Some of the questions were:
Who servers if the president is unable to serve?
Explain one of the 4 amendments about voting?
Why does the flag has 13 stripes?
Name one right of all Americans that is on the first amendment?
(can't remember the other 2) She stopped at question 6, since I got all correct.
Reading question was "Which state has the most people?" Written answer: California has the most people.
I joked about my bad hand writing, she smiled and said most people had it worse than mine.
She then went on to look ... read complete review

Hi VJ friends,
Since I have got a lot of valuable knowledge and advice from this forum, so it is my turn to share the experience.
Background :
I entered USA with B2 in July 2011, got married in October and filed AOS in mid November.
It was my 4th time visiting US. (1st time (2006) was my business trip I stayed for 1 week, 2nd time (2010) to see my that-time boyfriend for 10 days and 3rd time (2011)to see him again for 2 weeks)
Interview Experience:
I had my interview on Friday, March 2nd, appointment time was 9.15. We were there at 8.30, waited until around 10 am. to get called in. The officer is an African-American woman, she walked us to her office and had us made the oath.
After that, she brought our file up on her desk and started to look and write something in it.. one page to another and another.. and another.. She didn't say a word for almost 10 minutes (it might be shorter but I fel... read complete review

From all other accounts, this interview should've been cake for us. We'd been together for 4 years (all throughout college), the applicant is from a country that is not considered one that many people are desperately trying to leave, we're the same age, similar backgrounds, and we're best friends- talking and laughing and finishing each other's sentences throughout the interview.
The interviewer took every single one of our pictures (about 40) and labeled them: with friends, Jan 2008; with family (wrote their names out), Christmas 2007; pet dog (this was a goofy picture of us posing with our puppy and she still didn't crack a smile). Took bank statements, lease agreements, car titles, premarital counseling certificates, marriage license, etc. from us to prove validity of the marriage. Even after all this, she said "I'll be reviewing your case and you should be receiving a letter within a few weeks letting you know my decision."
After hearing so many storie... read complete review
