Our process was very quick and easy here is the time line...
march 2010- filed first paperwork with lawyer
april, may 2010- got confirmation of CIS office receiving our paperwork
june, july 2010- husband did biometrics, medical exam and got approval of work authorization
august 2010- got interview date
september 23, 2010- had interview and got approved said his green card will be received in 2-4 weeks!
Now I leaned on this site for support while me and my husband was going through this process...and I will say it was very stressful and nerve wrecking!
But my husband was a 3 year over stay on his b-2 visa and had no social security number meaning we had NO joint account, issurance, ect.. we did have photos, lease together, wedding cards, mail with both names, i was so nervous the day of but as soon as i met our CIS interviewer all of that went out the window, he was so awesome and down to earth, friendly, he joked, laughed... read complete review

We arrived for our AOS interview 30 minutes early. It was rather quick interview process. The IO was great. He joked around with us and my daughter. A few questions, he looked through our photos & other evidence and said' I didnt need to see this as I can see you are a genuine couple but it is nice to see what different people compile' I chuckled and said ' I would have thought we would mostly compile the same things' He responded by saying ' No not all you. You have been very thorough in what you have put into your folder, whereas some people just bring a bunch of papers. Everyone is different' I was stunned...this file has important documents such as bank statements, wedding announcements, photos, insurance paperwork...it needs to be looked after not just stuffed together into a pile. Then again perhaps I am anal LOL!
All is all a great interview

Interview date: Apr. 12, 2010 at 9:45am
We went to the Cleveland CIS office around 9:10am, and placed the initial interview letter in a box. While we're waiting the officers told us there's something wrong with the Naturalization computer system so that there's a delay for about 30 minutes for the scheduled interview.
We're called in at 10:40am. The IO immediately had us sworn in. The IO then first repeated what's written on my husband's papers and had him answered yes or no. After that, the IO repeated what's written on my papers and had me answered yes or no.
Then he asked my husband how we met, what kind of wedding we had, how many people were at the wedding, are we planning to have kids. Afterwards, the IO wanted me to show proof of our marriage. I gave him our photos, health insurance, auto insurance, joint bank checks. He looked through those, complimented our wedding, asked us who were those people in the pictures.
