The officer who interviewed us was extremely professional, pleasant and Informative.
Since it was about 2.5 years since we sent in our paperwork for the AOS, we provided the officer with updated medical paperwork, tax info, pay stubs, and printouts of our shared bank accounts, retirement beneficiary statements, mortgage and car statements and our new daughter’s birth certificate.
The officer mentioned our file was really straightforward and that the marriage was clearly bonafide. The interview itself lasted about 15 minutes answering yes/no questions but we spent around 20 additional minutes talking about our families. We were approved and were told we should receive the green card in no more than 90 days.
The only thing that was disappointing was the long wait for the actual interview. Somehow our case switched to “interview completed†without an actual interview in February 2021 due to human error and this caused all... read complete review

We had our AOS interview yesterday at the Buffalo, NY, USCIS office. We arrived a few minutes early. There is on street metered parking down the street from the building. You can use the Buffalo Roam Parking App to pay for it. We went through the security check, pretty quick and easy. After checking in at the reception desk we only had to wait for a few minutes before an immigration officer called us and took us back to her office. Before we sat down she made us swear to the truth under oath. The interview was very quick and easy, she did not dig in to our history at all, she only asked my wife a few routine questions about if she had ever been part of a terrorist organisation, ever murdered someone, committed any crimes, etc. The agent said we had provided enough evidence that she did not feel like she had to quiz us on our history, she just wanted some updated evidence of an ongoing relationship. We provided our lease agreement, medical and auto insurance statements, a few pieces of... read complete review

Okay so we had our interview yesterday at the Buffalo field office. Overall a great experience. We arrived about 10 minutes early, went through the security checkpoint and then sat in the waiting room for about 15 minutes or so before the caseworker called us back.
Before we sat in his offices we had to swear to tell the truth. He was very friendly and said he just had to go over some questions and they would be very repetitive. He asked Tarik his full name, our address, my full name, my date of birth then the yes or no questions in the packet. The rest of the information that he gathered was through a general conversation. Hey Jess, where were you born, buffalo oh yeah which hospital, I said mercy then he said he grew up over there. Other questions, how did you guys meet- on a chatting app- talked for a year before I bought a plane ticket. We joked about the first meeting since Tarik met me at the airport and I took a bunch of anxiety medication before I landed and kind of just... read complete review

I had my AOS interview on 10/07/2020 at 12:30 pm in Buffalo.
My husband and I went inside the building 15 min before the actual interview. We went through the security check and then to the desk where we had to check-in. The lady at the desk took my picture and fingerprints and then we had to sit down in the waiting area. There were 4-5 other people before us, so we had to wait a while. Probably around 45-60 min.
Then an officer called us and we followed him to an office in the back. We had to take an oath to tell the truth and then we sat down and he went through our application.
He focused on the I-485 and the I-944. He didn't have any of our evidence and supporting documents lying in front of him, only the forms. He asked EVERY question on both forms and checked them if it matched or added something when he wanted more details.
When it came to the assets on form I-944, he asked my husband where around $23,000 in the category "other" came from. My ... read complete review

My husband (Italian) and I had our marriage-based adjustment of status interview on Monday. It was as good of an experience as I think you can have. We obviously don't have experience in other cities to compare, but all of the staff was very friendly. My husband's english is not great and we had requested an interpreter. Unfortunately, the interpreter did not show, but the officer let me translate as needed to him. I was surprised by this, but I think she honestly just wanted to see that we can communicate well to one another.
We had plenty of supporting documents, and I think this is what she was more concerned with. We had our 2019 filed taxes, joint health insurance, joint bank accounts, joint lease, and photo albums.
The questions asked were honestly more directed to me than my husband. She asked me more questions about our marriage, wedding, etc. Questions to him were more in regards to border entry and the questions that are asked on the I-485. ... read complete review
