The officer who interviewed us was extremely professional, pleasant and Informative.
Since it was about 2.5 years since we sent in our paperwork for the AOS, we provided the officer with updated medical paperwork, tax info, pay stubs, and printouts of our shared bank accounts, retirement beneficiary statements, mortgage and car statements and our new daughter’s birth certificate.
The officer mentioned our file was really straightforward and that the marriage was clearly bonafide. The interview itself lasted about 15 minutes answering yes/no questions but we spent around 20 additional minutes talking about our families. We were approved and were told we should receive the green card in no more than 90 days.
The only thing that was disappointing was the long wait for the actual interview. Somehow our case switched to “interview completed†without an actual interview in February 2021 due to human error and this caused all sorts of issues trying to get resolved (multiple phone calls to USCIS over many months with multiple departments). The case was apparently sent to Buffalo over a year ago but because of the computer error, sat without anyone reviewing or fixing the incorrect status.
We are just relieved that we received our interview and it went so smoothly.
