Here is my N400 interview experience at the Buffalo office during Covid. I applied for naturalization based on the three year marriage rule. my appointment was for 7:45 AM and I arrived at about 720 AM. The doors had just been unlocked and I was the first one and went through security then checked in at the window where I was fingerprinted and I showed them my interview letter.
I waited about 25 minutes in the waiting room until I was called into a private room for my interview.
The officer was professional but friendly. First I showed them my green card and my drivers license and my passport. Then we launched into the English and civics test. What territory was purchased in 1803? What was the main concern during the cold war for the United States? Who was the first President of the United States? Who did the United States go to war with in World War II? How many amendments are there? What are the two primary political parties? My husband (Italian) and I had our marriage-based adjustment of status interview on Monday. It was as good of an experience as I think you can have. We obviously don't have experience in other cities to compare, but all of the staff was very friendly. My husband's english is not great and we had requested an interpreter. Unfortunately, the interpreter did not show, but the officer let me translate as needed to him. I was surprised by this, but I think she honestly just wanted to see that we can communicate well to one another.
We had plenty of supporting documents, and I think this is what she was more concerned with. We had our 2019 filed taxes, joint health insurance, joint bank accounts, joint lease, and photo albums.
The questions asked were honestly more directed to me than my husband. She asked me more questions about our marriage, wedding, etc. Questions to him were more in regards to border entry and the questions that are asked on the I-485.

Was only 5 minutes the interview. We have a lot of proofs and the officer doesn’t need any additional information.

We received the letter of appointment for AOS a month before the set date of the interview, so we were given ample time to prepare for the much awaited interview  At the back of the letter are the things needed to take with you for the interview.
Enumerated are the things we prepared for our interview:
1. Up to date Medical Examination (med. exam. are good for only a year, so better check the date you first submit your med exam to them).
2. Affidavit of support (which we submitted already when we applied for the adjustment of status, so no need for that anymore.)
-unless, if you have new FEDERAL TAX INCOME statements, W2 those stuff, or if you are working now, and is receiving paychecks, better submit those as an update to your file.
3. EAD, AP and SSN
4. Original Documents of our Marriage Certificate, our Birth Certificates, Naturalization Certificate (citizenship)...I mean all the certificates you submitted from your ... read complete review

Arrived 10am for 10:45 interview. Went through security, checked in, and waited with maybe 3 individuals/couples before us. Got called after a short wait, maybe around 10:35. Followed officer to office, stood to take an oath, sat down. First asked to submit I-693 medical forms. Officer then directed questions to my USC wife, confirming many of the personal details on her portion of the forms. When my wife disclosed that she had changed her job, I quickly found the employer letter and gave it to the officer. Next I was asked many of the questions from my part of the form: personal details and yes/no questions. The officer asked where and when we first met, when we started dating. When the officer asked me if I have any children, I gestured towards my wife and said we have one on the way. The officer congratulated us while I produced a letter from the OBGYN confirming the pregnancy, which the officer kept.
