Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

We were called into the interview almost 2 hours late. The interview was less than 30 minutes and pleasant. They guy looked at the submitted documents and only asked to look at the originals of our passports and marriage certificate. I don't think he asked to look at the originals of our birth certificates. He didn't ask to see any other documents.

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

We arrived at the JFK Federal Building a half hour before our appointment time. We were directed to a window to hand in the Appointment Notice, and the gentleman at the window said someone would be with us fairly soon. At exactly our appointment time (11:45 AM), the same gentleman as before ("Officer Dana") called out my name (the petitioner), and took both us to his office, together. When I asked if my husband should come with me (because I had read that often they interview the couple separately) he just joked, "If he's the husband, then yes!"

We were both put under oath, and my fingerprints and photo were taken. Officer Dana asked me how I met my husband, and then just asked us if we were happy and "how it's going." I told him I was happy, and that we loved our little apartment in the North End, our jobs, our friends, and each other. Then we spoke a bit about rent (he was moving soon and wanted to compare experiences) and he remarked that I spoke English perfectly. H... read complete review

LOCAL OFFICE *LAWRENCE MA*

We had our GC interview today. We arrived super early (yay no traffic), about an hour before our interview. We got called in 30 minutes before our time slot, and were out 15-20 minutes later.

Called US citizen in first, asked identity confirmation questions then a few basic questions (how/when did we meet, where did we get married and why we chose that spot). USC handed over evidence file, Officer glanced through and took a cursory look through our physical wedding album. After asking for his nickname, the Officer then called beneficiary in to join, asked the same few questions to confirm, and then I-485 questions.

Approved on the spot, and by the time we got home, the status had updated online.

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

We had our interview on the 25th of April at 2.15 pm at the JFK building in Boston. Since it was raining we drove there and parked at the Government Center Garage ($20/day early bird price online). We passed through the security check and checked-in for our interview at 2 pm at the counter. Since it was an immigration court there were so many people (maybe around 50) for various immigration cases. We had to wait for an hour since they were lagging and around 3.15 pm an officer called our name and took both me and my husband to the office. We were sworn in saying that we will tell only the truth. The officer Maria was very friendly and checked both our passports, birth certificates and our marriage certificate. She asked my husband how long we are known to each other, how we met, where we got married, our wedding date and my birthdate. She asked me when was the last time I entered the US, my husband’s birthdate, where my mother-in-law lives and if I have met her. She also asked m... read complete review
