Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Our appointment was for 7:30am but we got there at 6:30am. I'd advise everyone to ask your taxi driver to drop you off at a street around the corner from the consulate because the street vendors there are VERY aggressive. My wife was bullied into buying a drink from them after they practically forced our taxi to pull to their side of the road to drop us off near their chairs-for-rent.

Anyway, they didn't let people form a line in front of the consulate's side entrance until a little after 7am so getting there early didn't help at all. We stood in line outside for about 35 minutes while the staff helpers went along the line asking to see appointment letters and passports. They seemed to arrange a separate priority line of people with children and elderly that would enter the building first. Eventually my wife and I made our way through an initial door security checkpoint and then into the building where we stood in line again to pass through the main security checkpoint ... read complete review

Review Topic: F-2A Visa

My wife got a new passport before the interview and the Consulate Officer asked us to upload the new passport to CEAC and come back in the afternoon, which we got approval in the same day.

I went to interview with my wife and the CO asked my wife a few questions such as how we met, when I moved to USA, how many times I visited my wife, what my job is, etc. The CO asked to review the chat logs and we gave them the entire packets (before and after marriage) and he flipped through the packets. After that, everything was okay except the new passport which we resolved in the same day. The interview process was smooth in general.

Review Topic: K1 Visa

Our interview was scheduled for 8:05am and everything was as described by other reviewers up to the interview itself.

After reading the last review for this consulate I decided to be present for the interview and I'm glad I was. It was not as easy as I've seen reported by others, and I wonder if the Texas fraud ring had something to do with it. Neither my fiance nor myself had ever been married before. We were very well prepared. The CO would not let me stand at the window for the interview until she asked me a couple of questions near the end. She would not allow my fiance to interview in vietnamese and sent the interpreter away entirely. Fortunately my fiance was prepared and did well.

We saw 2 or 3 pink approvals the whole time we were there - everyone else got blue. We also got a blue paper requiring a different visa photo, even though it was already accepted with the I-129f. We got a new one and went back in the afternoon, and we were approved. They ... read complete review
