Our interview date was March 7th at 11 am. We arrived at 9 am and the Vietnamese staff escorted us inside. You have to go through securities and then you can come in to take your number. There are four steps total, biometrics was taken and then we waited to submit our paperwork. Unfortunately, when we came to submit our paperwork, my fiancee forgot her police report 2. Then we waited for her interview. During the time that she got her biometric taken, submit paperwork ... I was able to be there . Then when she had her interview, I bought her paperwork up. This seem to help and the consulate was very happy of this. I stated that I am the petitioner and she was happy to find out that I came back to accompany my fiancee. She ask when did I arrive in Ho Chi Minh City and when I was living. I stated that I only bought one way ticket back to Ho Chi Minh City and will buy two one way tickets back with my fiancee. There she ask my fiancee to say what my name is. Then she to... read complete review

My fiance had her interview on February 24th and she was approved. I believe that the CO already has made the decision before the interview, because the CO only asked 3 questions...What is your fiance's name? When did you meet your Fiance? and What is his favorite football team? The last question was because my fiance was wearing a Seahawks shirt!! She was given a receipt to turn in at the EMS desk and had to pay for the shipping for her passport to be mailed to her. Her visa was issued on February 28th and she received it in the mail on March 6th. We were both so relieved and grateful that the interview went so smoothly

Here is our experience from HCM Consulate.

Questions had been asked:

1) What is your fiancé's date of birth and place of birth?

2) What is your fiancé's highest education?

3) What is his current address and phone number?

4) How many siblings does he have?

5) How many trips did your fiancé visit you and tell exact date of entry and left for each trip?

6) Can I see pictures and airplane tickets?

7) Where and When did he propose? Did he propose inside (VIP's room) or outside? Did you accept it right away or ask him to give you some times to think about it? Describe how he proposed.

8) Where is he working ? Can you describe the job that he works ?

They did not even look at mails, letters, Moneygram's receipts, or phone record. The CO told her that she did very well on her interview, however CO gave her the 1st blue slip to ask for ... read complete review

Today (February 25, 2014) my wife had her interview at the U.S. Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The interview took 344 days from our NOA1 date. For various reasons (mostly office errors) we had 1 RFE with USCIS, and 2 Check lists with NVC. In all that set us back about 3 months I would say.

Anyway, onto the interview. My wife, 2 yr old son, and I arrived and parked across the street from the consulate at 6:35am. Before we got the motorbike and all our things situated they began lining up down the sidewalk outside the consulate in two single file lines. This began at about 6:40am. We were in line shortly after and it was already LONG!

They opened the doors shortly after 7:00am. At this time the lines were VERY long. We were about in the middle of the line. The lines slowly started moving as they checked everyone's appointment letters, then a security check to look into any bags you brought and scanned you with a hand held metal detector.
