Out consulate interview was in June of 2018.
Vivian and I met her mom at our hotel at 5:30am and took a taxi to the consulate. We thought
we had all paperwork prepared with us (two backpacks full). Somehow Vivian remembered that
she left her medical paperwork at home and mom immediately got out of the taxi and went
home to get it. We were very thankful that she was there with us to help at the last minute and I
will never forget it, Supermom. We arrived at the consulate at 6am and there was a man that
greeted us across the street and had little chairs for us to sit on and we bought some water and
coffee from him. There were already approximately 10 people that got there before us. This
other guy selling books outside was very nice too and wished me good luck twice.
At 6:30 we all started to walk across the street and waited in line and got checked in. The viet
officers that checked our bags thought that I had a sad f... read complete review

Appointment time at 7:30. Interview at 10:15 for 5 minutes. CO didn't ask for additional evidence. 4 questions were asked:
1/ Where and when did you meet your spouse?
2/ When have you two been in a romantic relationship?
3/ How did you two fall in love?
4/ How many people from US attended your wedding in Vietnam? List all of them.

The day of the interview was a very smooth experience overall, but in Vietnam it is all the many steps leading up to that event which are challenging, so here I will attempt to document and provide some advice on the entire process before discussing the interview itself...
Step 1: Get your Case number from the NVC. Once you have this you can do a lot of the preparatory stuff for the interview. The fastest way to get this is by calling the NVC at (603) 334-0700. Anyone who knows your USCIS case #, and the full names and dates of birth of both the petitioner and beneficiary can call to get this info. Don't be put off if they say it will take weeks, as that is a boilerplate response. Just try again the next day.
Step 2: Once you have the case number you should complete the DS-160 form. You will then have to pay the visa fee in cash at any Vietnam Post location. The K-1 visa costs 6,300,000 VND right now, but different categories have different fees. A day or... read complete review

Approved!!!!!!
I am the petitioner and did not attend the interview.
She was there from 6:30 am to 10:30 am.
She was very well prepared and did the interview in English.
She was asked a few simple questions and was approved.
I previously visited her twice for a total of 15 days.
I think she showed them chat logs, engagement party photos, and engagement ring photo.

Arrived at Consulate at 6:45am for our 7:35 interview. There were already a line of about 40 people along the wall.
Greeters came out and started checking peoples paperwork and when the door opened we were brought into a holding area where they handed out a paper to write down the address where you want them to send your passport if approved. They said not to fill it out until later on because if you make a mistake they won't give you another one (just a scare tactic by the "greeters" which are actually EMS Post Office workers). I'm sure they'd give you another one if you made a mistake.
Went through security where you have to give them your phone and go through a metal detector and x-ray your bag and belongings. Then we were lead to another line but were told by one of the greeters to first go get our DS-160 barcode scanned at a different counter. After they scanned it we got a number and then went back into line but they only allowed my fiancee to stand ... read complete review
