Interview was very easy-going for my fiance. He submitted paperwork before the interview to a secretary who thanked him for having everything neatly organized with tabs. She said it was very helpful. In his interview he had someone who seemed new and my fiance says he seemed almost as nervous as him! He didn't speak a lot of Spanish and my fiance said it was okay to speak to him in English which helped the process. He asked him a lot of the questions that you see in a "questions practice list", but there was two questions he did not know the answer to and weren't on a list which was "how long have the petitioner's parents have been together?" and "where does the petitioner's sister work?" (my parents and my sister are the only family that live near me). He didn't know the answer to either question but it didn't cause any problems. Over all the interview went by fast and he was approved without a problem!

The security guard seems a bit sneaky as they said they aren't conducting interviews until you show them the passport/papers.
As long having the important files ready, it's all good to go. They usually make sure you aren't making false statement which is their biggest interest.

I got to the embassy 10 minutes before my appointment. A security guard asked for my identification card and checked my name off a list and told me to wait outside until I was called. Once I was called, I went through security and was told to take off any belts or electronics. They gave me a card and directed me to the interview office. I was the only one there! The first lady asked me for all my paperwork and checked everything off a list, then told me to go to the next window. They got my fingerprints and then told me to wait sitting down. I was called and was asked to swear that I was telling the truth. Then she started questioning me about my fiance; how we met, for how long we have visited each other, what he does for work or study, what my family thinks of him. Overall it was a good experience! She was friendly and we ended up talking about how her aunt is a dog groomer in the US. :P

Our lawyer told us to change our processing from the Uruguay Consulate route to the local-office-in Boston route since we were already here visiting for 6 months. We were in and out in 15 minutes. Since we have two year-old twins, they didn't question anything. They just asked the same lawful questions we had to answer on the AOS forms.
One thing though! They never received our file from NVC! They couldn't put it in the computer that we were approved! They have to wait for our file before they can put the Green card into production even. That said, they said after they get the file, it will arrive in 2-3 weeks probably. My lawyer said, sometimes this can happen at the fault of the USCIS.

I arrived at the Embassy around 8:45am for a 9:30am interview. I made my way to Gould's Pharmacy to drop off my belongings (now let you take in tablets/phones and backpacks - only had to leave my laptop with the pharmacy!). I lined up around 9am and it took about half an hour-ish to get through both lines and security (I wasn't wearing a watch so it was a bit of a blur!).
Anyway, when I entered the Embassy I was given my 'I9--' number [be aware that they don't call them in order so don't worry!] and I made my way to the waiting area. I waited around 20 minutes or so to be called to the first window where I gave my documentation and fingerprints to a gentleman. He then asked me to be seated until my number was called again. [From what I can gather, there is only 2 consulate officers interviewing]. It was actually only another 10 minutes until I was called and I was sworn under oath before the interview started.
