First, a bit of logistical advice: if you're staying in an outer part of London and your appointment is early, do not count on the availability of Ubers or taxis or whatever else to take you directly there. I learned this the hard way, though fortunately I had left enough time to get to the embassy comfortably on public transit instead.
My appointment was for 9.30. I arrived at about 8.20, and dropped off my bag at District cafe for £10 (they said that most coffee places in the area offer bag storage for a fee). After a quick coffee and breakfast, I went over to the South Pavilion entrance for roughly 8.45. The queue on the left (for US citizen services) is the one you need to join. Despite reading every review advising me to join that queue, I wavered in the heat of the moment and joined the one for visa services. Thankfully it was short, and they gave me directions to enter anyway – I didn't have to queue again. They checked my passport and my DS-160 confirmation p... read complete review

I had my K-1 Visa interview appointment at 9:30 am, but I made sure to arrive at the US Embassy 40 minutes early. On arriving, I was met with a sizable queue and, unfortunately, I initially stood in the wrong line. A heads up to others: you need to approach the desk by the doors first. There's a bit of confusion because, although the K-1 visa is technically a non-immigrant visa, they process it as an immigrant visa. There were clear indications that some signage improvements could be helpful, as another lady there for the K-1 Visa also seemed perplexed by the same issue.
After clearing the initial desk, I went through a security check, which felt akin to an airport security but with a more relaxed vibe. The officers at security hinted I should bypass the general "visa" line and proceed directly to the front desk. A minor hiccup again - you actually need to use the 'US Citizens' line for this.
The front desk team were efficient; they took my DS-160, passpor... read complete review

Hi there posting a review of my experience and the ones on here helped me a tonne with nerves and knowing what to expect and i want to pass that helpfulness onto the next hopefuls.
Had my interview today at the UK embassy, scheduled interview 10AM, arrived at Vauxhall station at 9am and walked along the riverside for about 5 mins to get to the embassy. you cant miss it, its the cheese grater looking building (seriously who signed off that design) and then walked around to the south pavilion entrance. (i made the walk the day before so i knew exactly where i was going)
When i arrived i sat down for 10 mins and gathered my nerve and papers and headed to the line on the right, the lady at the podium told me to wait another 15 minutes before trying to enter, but wrote something on my Confirmation letter and told me to go straight to the security guard on the door as I had priority.
Went into the airport style security, the usual stuff you exp... read complete review
