Hi there posting a review of my experience and the ones on here helped me a tonne with nerves and knowing what to expect and i want to pass that helpfulness onto the next hopefuls.

Had my interview today at the UK embassy, scheduled interview 10AM, arrived at Vauxhall station at 9am and walked along the riverside for about 5 mins to get to the embassy. you cant miss it, its the cheese grater looking building (seriously who signed off that design) and then walked around to the south pavilion entrance. (i made the walk the day before so i knew exactly where i was going)

When i arrived i sat down for 10 mins and gathered my nerve and papers and headed to the line on the right, the lady at the podium told me to wait another 15 minutes before trying to enter, but wrote something on my Confirmation letter and told me to go straight to the security guard on the door as I had priority.

Went into the airport style security, the usual stuff you expect belongings in a tub, walk through a metal detector and on the way to the main reception.

At Main reception receptionist asked for my Name, passport and ds-160 handed them over she put a sticker on the ds160 with a number and told me what window to sit at when I arrived at the next room. Was told to head to the elevator take it to the first floor, ignore all the people in the first room take a left then another left which left me in a rectangle room with about 6 booths. Above each both is a small monitor showing what number case the booth is currently serving, I sat near booth 21 and waited for my number to appear on the screens, after about 5 minutes it did.

When my number appeared i approached the booth and was greeted by a lovely man who asked me for my fingerprints and some general questions about me such as if i had been married before etc. and asked me for all my documents. DS160, Birth certificate, acro report I134 and evidence and passport. he handed me my DS160 back and told me to sit back down again and wait for my number to be called again by one of either two windows.
This was now the longest part i had to wait around 40 minutes for my number to be called again, this is where my nerves were getting to me. the wait felt like an eternity.
After the 40 minutes i was called up again to another window by a lovely gentleman, who asked me to raise my right hand and pledge that all information given was the truth, he asked me again for my finger prints and then asked me 4 simple questions.
- how did you and your spouse meet?
- When did you first meet in person?
- When did you get engaged?
- When did i last see my spouse?
And then boom he entered some stuff on his computer and told me i was approved and i would get my passport back within 5-7 working days.
Hope this review helps some people with the more detailed stuff with the interview process to ease your nerves.
