Had our interviews this morning, myself and my 6 year old son.
We stayed over in London the night before (travel lodge just round the corner, so we could walk to the embassy) appointment was for 8.30 and we got there about 8.10 and we went straight in. Felt like I knew exactly were I was going and what I was doing after reading all the reviews on here.
We were the only ones there, and we were in the building for about an hour in total.
First officer, just took my fingerprints (not my sons as he’s too young for them to be needed) and I handed over all civil documents! But only mine and my sons... they didn’t need originals of my husbands divorce documents! Also they only wanted one photo and no photo copies of anything were needed! (Unlike what it says on their website)
Second officer asked how we met, what he did for a job, and if we had medical insurance. I said I would get travel insurance and sort ... read complete review

I arrived at the embassy at around 10.15am for a 10.30am appointment. I made my way to the south pavillion where someone checks your passport and your DS 260. I then went through airport like screening, this was very fast, then you make your way to the main building, everything is clearly signed. Someone at reception looks at your DS 260 again and sticks a note on it with your interview number.
You then go up to the 1st floor turn left and left again to a small waiting area and wait for your number to be called. I was waiting for about 15 minutes before I was called. At the first window they asked for my passport, marriage certificate, birth certificate, police certificate and a photo (they did not ask me for any photocopies) they then take your fingerprints and ask you to take a seat until you are called up again.
Second time you are called up is the actual interview, this was very short and basic. They asked me when and how I met my husband, when we go... read complete review

So I arrived at the Embassy in Vauxhall at 9:45 for a 10:00 appointment. Impossible to miss, it's a giant cube with the US flag flying high all around it. Easily sign posted. It's still very very quiet there with Covid, so I was the only one who entered the building. It was difficult at first as there were lots of security in the first part of the building, but no obvious way to enter as the doors were locked. A person came out and asked if they could help, I showed them my appointment letter and they took it away, wrote on it, gave it back to me and asked me to hold up my passport on the bio page next to my face (bearing in mind I had a face mask on!). I stepped into the security building and put all my stuff through a scanner. There were lots of security staff in there, but they were all very happy and helpful. I then left this building and walked through the courtyard which takes you into the main embassy building. It really is an architecturally impressive place! The main reception... read complete review

Interview today went very well, easy and straightforward.
I walked from the Vauxhall underground station and from there, the embassy is very to easy find. It’s hard to miss the giant flags and odd diamond shapes all over the building! The building itself is between a small moat type of water and a lovely garden with water/ pond like feature, very nice to sit and wait for your appointment time.
Two days before my interview, I received an email stating that it was best to get there for 15 minutes before my appointment time so I arrived at 10.15 for a 10.30 appointment. The entrance you need to go in is near the ‘garden side’ and is signposted as ‘south pavilion’. There is a small building you have to go through before you can go to the main embassy and this is where you go through an airport like security. At the door your printed appointment date is checked and you’re asked to open up your phone and use an app. After that, you are l... read complete review

Appointment was for 0830 and I arrived at 0815.
I was inside and through security by approximately 0825 with a couple other interviewees.
My number was called and I handed my civil docs over. They also wanted my previous C1/D visa as they would need to cancel this, which was in my old passport and glad I had the advanced thought to bring this along with me. As we submitted everything online, I wasn’t asked for any further financial or relationship evidence nor was I asked for anything that I didn’t submit to NVC. I was informed at this time that they didn’t yet have my medical (attended appointment on august 7th).
My interview was short and sweet, I held up my right hand to confirm all my statements were true and was asked the following:-
How I met my wife.
A few questions about my military service.
What my wife does now.
The CO was extremely friendly throughout and we even ha... read complete review
