Feb 25th 2013 – Attended the visa interview at US Embassy on Grosvenor Square, London. Visa granted!
Interview time was given as 9:30am. I arrived at 8:30 and was allowed to enter the waiting room after showing my appointment letter, MRV fee receipt, and passport. My number was not called until 10:30. I supplied the woman at the booth with the documents listed in the above link (copies and originals), including an affidavit of support I-134 (and associated bank and employment statements) completed by my fiancée. Fingerprints taken then waited another 30 mins for my number to be called again for the actual “interviewâ€. The man at this booth was a little more serious. Simple questions asked to get a feel for the authenticity of our relationship. Original documents returned to me. Good news of freedom to travel to the US. Told to expect my passport and visa within 7 working days. Before leaving the embassy, I stopped by the courier desk to pay for postage of ... read complete review

Had my IR1 interview earlier today and was approved. The last time I had visited the US Embassy in London was when it was located in Grosvenor Square so it was nice to see the new building.
The Embassy itself was almost empty. There were two other individuals waiting alongside me. Below are the steps I went through from arrival to leaving.
1. Entered via the South Pavilion entrance and was asked to show my DS-260 confirmation print out. This was signed by the person at the entrance.
2. Went through airport-style security.
3. Entered the actual Embassy itself and was asked to show my DS-260 confirmation print out (plus signature) to the person at reception. She then printed out an appointment number and stuck that on the sheet.
4. Was instructed to use the elevators on the right and go up to Floor 1.
5. Once at Floor 1, I was instructed to turn left, then left again until I got to windows 19-21 (I presumed these are the window... read complete review

Hubby had his interview today. He has gotten a provisional approval (pending someone in the US giving final approval due to our case being unique).
Hubby got to the embassy 15mins prior to his 10am appointment. Approached security and showed them his appointment confirmation email, which they signed and waved him through. Through security screening and walked into the main building and saw reception who checked the email appointment and gave him a number. He then went up the stairs and to the visa unit and waited for his number to be called (20minutes). When his number was called he spoke to the first guy who took all paperwork. He took his birth certificate, police certificate and marriage certificate and any financial support documents (he provided our social security statements as we were exempt from the I-864). He then went back to the cashier to pay the fee. He then waited again for the interview officer. He then met with the interviewer, which mostly consisted of r... read complete review

Not much more to add from the other reviews. I had my expedited interview (due to medical reasons) this morning at the embassy. I went through security, into the main building, and was guided to the waiting area. I waited about 40 minutes for my documents to be checked, and then another 20 minutes or so for the interview.
I got a bit grilled on the reasons for our marriage, which is fair enough, considering we got married 3-4 months after meeting. The concerns were mostly about the short time between meeting up and getting married, and the short time between me living in the UK and being ready to settle in the US. Also got asked about how we met, if we had a wedding, if we had met each other's families, my occupation, and what my plans were once in the US.
The interview took about 10 minutes, and all in all, the process took about 1.5h and went as smoothly as possible.
