A quick update.
Interview Date: 14th December 2020 @ 11:30am.
A 38 minutes London underground journey from my home to Vauxhall and out via exit 4 which led to a 7 minute walk to the Embassy South Pavillion.
I arrived 30 minutes before my appointment and was welcomed into an airport style check point after my interview letter was checked. I was directed to the main building where my interview letter and DS260 were checked again and sticker with queue number applied. Directed to the1st floor via elevator. Once out the elevator, it was 2 left turns to immigrants visa section.
3 other applicants in seating area, smart/casual dressed. So I didn't feel out of place.
I sat and observed monitors while feeling anxious. My number showed up against window to go to. As I approached window, the greeting of a smile and casual "Hi" from Consular Officer 1 quickly helped me to relax. The process was explained, I was asked for original copies ... read complete review

My husband's appointment went way better than we expected. After all this wait, we made sure to have everything in line: all paperwork with 2 copies, practiced interview questions and he stayed at Travel Lodge which was only a 10 min walk from embassy. He arrived 30 min prior to appointment and they let him in right away. He said everyone was so nice, to the point where he thought it couldn't be real. He went to the first desk where the woman looked over our paperwork, she said everything was good and told him to have a seat. After 5 minutes he was called to the window for the interview. He was only asked 2 questions, they did not keep any copies, the woman was so pleasant. She said "You don't need to worry about anything anymore, I have approved you!" My husband was in and out in less than 30 minutes-when he called to let me know I couldn't believe it! He was the only one there at the time. Can not say enough how grateful we are to have such pleasant people working at the London Embas... read complete review

I was actually running late for my interview - phoned the embassy and while the lady I spoke to said she couldn't contact the immigrant visa unit, there was time allotted for lateness.
Interview was at 10. Arrived at 10:15, went through airport style security. Went to check in and was asked for ds260 page and passport both times. Was instructed to go up the lift to the first floor and hang a left. Lady at the top after I got out directed me to the IV waiting area.
Waited maybe 10 minutes before being called to a booth. Went through civil documents and fingerprints. All staff encountered thus far were super chill and friendly, process was simple and straightforward, even made a bit of small talk with the first CO about my beard lol.
Sat down again and waited maybe 15 minutes before my number came up again, this time for the 'interview' bit. Was asked a few questions; where would I be staying, where I got married, and for a little more info ... read complete review

I received interview notification on Friday 13th November 2020 at 7 am. At 09:30 am I was calling up visa medicals to book the next available appointment as the interview itself was scheduled for 1st December and I with work schedules I wanted to be organised. I would recommend preparing your medical documents and patient summary record from the GP in advance so when your interview slot is announced, you can get booked in as soon as possible.
On the night before the interview I checked into the Travel Lodge Vauxhall which is approximately ten minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel is also conveniently located 1 minute walk from the tube station. I was worried that it would only take one road traffic collision on the motorway and I'd be done for, so I paid £45 for the night which seemed fair. The room is basic and simple but beautiful for the peace of mind it gave!
On the interview day my appointment was set for 10:30. I arrived at around 10:10 and atten... read complete review

Initially walked to the side door of the consulate where a Met police officer very kindly recommended a coffee shop to sit and wait as I was 45 minutes early for my appointment.
He suggested I walk to the main door and speak to the security guards there to check if they would admit me early - which they did, amazingly!
Went through airport style security, a lovely lady did my screening and asked me to sip my water and show her my hand sanitiser in my bag then off I went through (the heaviest doors ever) up to the main building. That process was literally 5 minutes long.
Walk up the the first desk where your confirmation page is reviewed and you are given stickers with your ticket number. Upstairs in the lift to the first floor, another desk where the receptionist there asks you to walk around the corner and take a seat until your number is called up on screen. Not a long wait for this to happen as there were only a few people in the waiting room. ... read complete review
