I've described this at some length, as I have found reading other people's reviews and advice very helpful. I hope this might be of help to someone else.
As I live in Scotland, I took the train down the day before. I stayed at the Best Western Vauxhall, which is only a few minutes walk from Vauxhall Underground and from the embassy (although be aware that if you're using a directions app, it will try to take you through a major construction site, which you have to take a detour around). It's cheap by London standards (I paid £60), the rooms are decent and they let me leave my bag at the hotel while I went to the embassy.
I'm very glad that, before I went, I had read the embassy guide and watched a couple of videos on the embassy's YouTube channel that walk you through the security system, the entrance hall etc. This really helped me to visualise what was going to happen and made it a much more relaxed experience. They basically just validate all the paperwork I sent them. Questions were:
How long we are in a relationship, has he visited the UK to see me , why was I in Saudi Arabia on my police clearance (work)

The Embassy was really welcoming and nice, my appointment was at 11 am and I arrived around 10:15 am (they don't give you a waiting number until around 15 minutes until your interview so I waited in the reception area). I was out of there by 11:45 am. They have very clean bathrooms (once you complete and exit the airport-style security area turn left) in case you need to freshen up before your interview.
There were 2 rounds, first with a gentleman who I gave my interview confirmation email and passport + 2 US size passport pictures of me and originals of my birth certificate and police certificate. He then asked for the updated letters of intent with both of our signatures. Then he asks for the MRV fee proof of payment and Affidavit of Support (Form I-134) with supporting evidence (I handed over my fiance's letter of employment from his manager/boss and also his W2 and tax transcripts for the last 3 years).
