Uneventful, asked the basic questions. No welcome to America.

Most people at the embassy were friendly and helpful. The only bad part was with the second interview person. Because I hadn't visited for over two years (the forms were submitted before the two year deadline, but interview was after it) It was at his discresion to let me in. I had to convince him that I was in an ongoing relationship, providing phonebills was the biggest help in this.

All that stress of waiting for the interview, and making sure all of my paperwork was all together, checking it, then checking it again. And I was not asked for any of it! Just a few questions -
1 How did you meet?
2 How many times has he been here?
3 How many times have I been there?
4 Did we meet each others families?
And that was it. The people were all very nice, helpful and pleasent.
All in all "A grand day out"

First thing - to everyone going to London - don't turn up til at least 40 mins prior to your appointment - they won't let you queue; in fact they send you off and tell you to come back.
I didn't see anyone have their bags removed, and many had rucksacks.
I got there at 8.20am, tho my appointment time was 10am, there were already 2 queues, and the nice armed policeman I spoke to explained about the being there too early thing. He pointed me in the direction of a cafe, and I went and had breakfast there and generally tried to bend the laws of physics trying to make time go faster.
I went BACK to the queues at 9.15am, got told which line to stand in, and saw a face that looked vaguely familiar about 3 places ahead of me; so I boldly went up and asked a really puzzled guy was he Olly, Hannah's fiance? I could see him thinking 'who the hell are you'? but we chatted about where he's going to live and great places to see on the West coast (as I spent a few months there a... read complete review

My interivew was scheduled for 10:30 on 12th June.
Arrived at 9:45 to find 2 large queues & was told by a guy organising the queues which to wait in. It was a really hot day and I had to wait outside for around 30 minutes before having passport checked & then going through security.
On entrance into the embassy I took a number, sat down & waited about an hour to be called up to window 14.
Here I gave my passport, birth cert, police check, 2 passport photos, payment slip, 1-134 (in duplicate where applicable). He gave me back a lot of the docs I'd included with the I-134, & I wasn't asked for any proof of relationship. I also had to sign the forms I'd previously sent to the embassy & was given my chext xray. I was given a pink form to fill out for the SMS courier delivery while I waited for my number to be called again.
I waited around 20 minuted before being called to window 15 where a nice lady returned my birth cert & police check originals. She got me to... read complete review
