March 2,2007 I went with my fiancee to her interview with her. They had no problem letting me in with her due to that i'm a american anyway and i'm her sponser. We waited a 1 hour in the line.Once inside it went very quick only sat down for 10 mins. Then when we were called up to the first desk we spoke to a very polite englishman after he looked over her papers made sure everything was ok.We sat back down and called again in 2 min then spoke with the consulate Officer. He was very nice joked around with us we were all laughing and chatting more then conducting business. So thne he only asked us one question(how did we meet)and also wanted to see a pay stub from my job because I was at my job for less then a year good thing I there because I didn't have a pay stub but I showed him my work ID and badge so he accepted that. Then he said everything was fine and congrats to you both.So I think that embassy is very accomdating the staff was all nice and helped us out alot the only thing thats a ... read complete review

I arrived exactly 30 minutes before my scheduled interview time, showed my passport and interview letter, and was directed to join the shortest queue. I waited for 2 and a half hours to go through the little security checkpoint hut, but it went fairly quickly because I was chatting to the family behind me in the queue.

When I was allowed into the Embassy, a lady at the front desk looked at my letter again and seemed a bit concerned that I'd been waiting for so long, but gave me a little ticket with a number on it and told me to wait in the hall until my number was called. I think it was about 10 minutes before I had to go up to one of the little windows and have the first bit of the interview and pay the application fee. Then I sat reading my book for another 30 minutes before I was called up for the next bit of the interview. The lady who interviewed me checked a few things on my forms, asked me some straightforward questions and then told me I was approved!

I got to the embassy at 9:45 for my 10:30 interview expecting to be turned away for being too early, but was just pointed to join a line. Next to me was the 10am line at around about 10:30 the 10am line started to move so there were clearly some delays. It did annoy me that at around 11am people were still joining the 10am line, if you can't be bothered to turn up to such an important interview on time then you should be forced to wait or reschedule as far as I'm concerned. Anyways, once I got in at about 12:00 I waited for 20 minutes, got called to a window to hand my documents in, got asked my name, asked who my co-sponsor was in relation to my wife (her brother) got asked why her brother had a different surname to her ( I pointed out that it was because my wife took my name when we got married) then I took my xray and sat back down. About another 20 minutes later I got called up to a second window to sign my form and swear that I was telling the truth.

After that all... read complete review

The interview went very smoothly. Our appointment was for 8.30am and we joined the queue at security around 7.50am. It took about 20 minutes to get through security and we went into the Visa section of the embassy. We were handed a ticket number by the girl at the front desk and then entered the Visa waiting area. There are lots of seats and screens showing ticket numbers and what windows are serving which numbers. We waited about 5 minutes before being called to window 1 where we met a nice lady who asked for our documentation. She also gave us the x-ray from the medical. She took Dave's fingerprints and checked our documents. She then gave us the payment slip, told us to pay at window 12, and gave us a pink sheet for the courier. We were asked to fill that out before the interview.

We paid in cash (British pounds) at window 12 and filled in the pink courier sheet. We then waiting for about another 30 minutes (from 8.40) to be called for our interview at windo... read complete review

As I walked from Dr Phelan's Office alone, I couldn't help but think of all the bad thing's that could happen at the interview, such as an ommited piece of important paper or missing passport or things that could hold me up and keep me away from Sandy. The walk was only 10 minutes from Great Cumberland Place to the embassy. The morning sun was creeping up above the rooftops making it feel like a 'Good Day' to be alive.
I arrived at the heavily guarded security fence that was now in place around the embassy after the September 11th problem and was met by a security officer who asked to see my interview letter and passport and asked me the purpose of my visit. He told me where the entrance was and off I went. Upon entering the building my bag was put through the x-ray machine to check for weapons and I walked through a machine to check for weapons on myself. Had to sign in and was told to go up the stairs and turn left for the visa department.
The main room at the embassy w... read complete review
