My fiance's review of his interview experience:

Timescale of Interview (9am appointment):

08:00 Arrive & join queue
09:30 Into Embassy
10:30 Hand over documents
10:50 Sit back down for a drink & snack
11:10 Interview

11:35 Out of Embassy/collect phone
11:44 Phone my missus

I drove into London on the previous night, stayed at a friend's in Battersea and was up and out of the door by 7:20 next morning. (I'd mulled over the travel options and had decided to drive to Grosvenor square and park up nearby). The five-mile journey through Chelsea took me around twenty minutes and I was lucky enough to strike a deal with the doorman at the Millennium Hotel (just off Grosvenor square) who let me park there for £15 for the day. This was ideal as I had no idea how long I'd need to be parked and the street-meters charged £1 per 15 minutes.

From here it was a mi... read complete review

This is a long rambling revew and not a particularly favourable one, if you are expecting a review stating how easy the whole interview process was, how pleasant and courteous the embassy staff were and how all the nervous waiting was for nothing, I'm afraid I can't do that.
I am not someone who just likes a good old moan for the sake of it nor am I particularly oversensitive, for the record, the staff at the medical at Bentinck mansions were very nice indeed and made that whole process fairly painless, but as to the interview itself, not so good
I arrived at approximately 9.55 for a 10.30 am appointment, after a fairly restless nights sleep, an hours train ride at an early hour into London and a nervous taxi ride to the embassy, never a good time to be in London, following a terrorist plot.
My interview was the resut of a whole 12 months of playing the visa game , not being with my husband and not really wanting to risk visiting him and being d... read complete review

Got there 9am, queued untill about 10pm where i passed through security.

The waiting room is like an airport terminal crossed with an Argos. You get given a number and watch your number approach the "its time to do something column" where you get called to a Post Office style window.

I got called at 11.30 to submit my police and birth certificate, submit finger prints and answer a couple of questions about travel dates and such.

Afterwards, I went back to the waiting room to wait for part two.

Part 2 came about 2.30pm! I was so tired and anxious at this point, I felt ill, my interview didnt go so well, but i think the wealth of evidence we had meant the officer sensed i was more nervous than mentally impaired/intoxicated/drugged/not in a real relationship as i got a couple of "simple" questions wrong!

Overall, I think i just got a really busy day and it was a bit of a nightmare, I left about 6 hours after ini... read complete review

I'm reviewing for my fiance who interviewd July 3. He said the line into the building went fairly quickly, though there were several checkpoints along the way to ensure those in line needed to be there. The last lady to check his interview letter even said he smelled nice... Hmmm Anywho, they took his forms, he missed filling in one section, so he had to complete that. At the actual interview bit, the guy didn;t ask any questions, just said "tell me about your fiance". Paul said it was no problem and everyone was very friendly and kept joking around with him.

Our Visa Interview was super easy. Everyone was very friendly. They only glanced over the paperwork, half of what we took we didn't need. They did ask quite a few questions, but the lady asking was very nice and the questions were easy to answer. It was all over and done with far faster then I thought. I paid extra to guarantee my visa delivery before 8am, so I could get it before work. But even that was fast, my interview was Thursday the 21st and I had my visa at 7:30 am on Saturday the 23rd. All was just generally easy and pleasant.
